You will have the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with founders, investors and mentors helping propel companies further and faster. You will also have access to full involvement in Techstars events with the founders and local community. This role is a full-time, temporary position through mid-December 2023
General Job Description
As the Business Development & Growth Associate, you will use both your sales and business skills to help create and build client relationships for our companies. In this role you'll work with the startups to develop marketing plans to drive lead generation, sales, and fundraising opportunities. Your day to day will include user acquisition strategies, growth channels, product funnel optimizations, and more!
- Previous experience working on user acquisition and growth. Doesn't have to be on a growth team, we just want to see evidence you've worked on this class of problem before.
- High comfort with data and analytical thinking.
- Continually experimenting and searching to find new growth channels that are equally or more effective with the top 12 Boston companies. Our goal is to enable these companies to be top of mind in their respective fields.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to sell and convince, as you will have to champion new initiatives and tests to drive growth, and implement these new strategies with the companies.
- Product funnel optimizations (user feedback, A/B testing) a plus, so you can also work with the product teams to implement your experiments.
- Ability to jump in and complete any task quickly and effectively.
- Be a problem solver and effective communicator.
- A drive to get better every single day and are always looking for opportunities to learn. This is truly key. You will be surrounded by brilliant startup founders, mentors and investors and our goal is for you to learn as much as you can.

- Authorized to work as a temporary employee in the United States
- Currently live in the Boston area or would be willing to live here for the duration of the program.

- Written Communication - Excellent written communication skills and ability to accurately convey background and interests of funders, ideally associating their interests with Techstars’ organizational need and priorities;
- Multitasking - Move seamlessly between any number of prioritized tasks and functions while effectively managing time;
- Forward Thinking - Anticipate the implications and after effects of situations and take appropriate action to be prepared for possible outcomes.
Position Details:
- The position will be based out of our office in Cambridge, MA with some remote work opportunities during the week. We are open to discussing work from home preferences balanced with in-office responsibilities.
- Some evenings may be required, at times, when the program is in session or to attend networking events..
- This is a full-time, temporary role available through mid-December 2023
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Compensation range: $20-$25/hr (40 hrs/week)
