Business Development Intern

Exciting opportunity for college student(s) who can join us in person at our headquarters office in Durham a few days a week!

Background:

WorkSmart is an industry leading MSP company delivering $20M of IT services to its customers each year. We are launching our first ever intern program to support our company’s new directive to grow our sales funnel. This is a highly dynamic time for our company, so an intern can expect to earn more responsibility through the course of their internship and if does well may receive a full-time offer.

Looking to hire interns who:

• Have strong work ethic and ownership
• Flexibility with structured/unstructured work
• Are students in the Raleigh/Durham area
• Comfortable making 50 phone calls a day facing a high percentage of rejection and objections
• Preferred but not required: sales experience, business acumen, passion for technology, and experience with primary market research

Internship Responsibilities:

• Collect market research data by calling and surveying small businesses in NC to understand current satisfaction or dissatisfaction with their in-house IT or their existing Managed IT Services Provider
• Help team understand and identify market opportunities and accounts to prioritize
• Assist in creating and maintaining database of potential customers

Opportunities to:

• Assist our aggressive revenue growth plan, pilot the internship program, and identify other potential room for generating leads and qualified opportunities for the sales team
• Potentially continue growing with our company in a Business Development Rep or related position after successful internship completion

Details:

• 10 hours a week during spring semester; 20-40 hours a week during summer
• $15/ hour pay with incentive bonus compensation based on performance
• Internship is in person at company office in Durham, NC
