Business Development Internship - Summer 2023

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking exceptional full-time students across all degree levels to join our Business Development Summer Internship program. 

The Business Development Team (or “Biz Dev,” as we like to call it) is responsible for identifying new business opportunities for HRT and ensuring their success. This means they’re always thinking about what’s next and are often at the forefront of HRT’s newest projects. As a Business Development Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with different departments within Biz Dev, taking on a variety of projects and getting exposure to different business areas across HRT. 

We are looking for detail-oriented and driven students to join us for an in-person summer internship in NYC. 

What to Expect

• A fast-paced summer training program to give you an introduction to the quantitative trading industry and exposure to various Business Development functions via a rotational structure.
• Develop a high level understanding of the Biz Dev team at HRT and how each subteam plays a role in HRT’s operations.
• Work on real projects, both independently and in close collaboration with team members across Biz Dev.
• Participate in seminars that will give you an overview of financial markets and HRT’s trading philosophy.
• Enjoy a curriculum of talks, mentorship opportunities, and social events throughout the summer.

Qualifications

• You are a full-time undergraduate or masters student 
• You will be graduating and looking for full-time roles in 2024
• You are capable of working independently as well as part of a team
• You are interested in financial markets
• You learn quickly and apply new skills effectively
• You have a proactive mindset and a strong grasp on how to prioritize your work
• Working knowledge of Excel (Tables, Pivot Tables, V-lookups, etc.)
• Working knowledge of Python is a plus but not required
• Exceptional attention to detail and desire to understand issues deeply
• Outstanding work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Monthly pay of $5,000 in addition to meals, provided-travel, and other perks.
