About the Position
The Alternate Routes to Market Business Development Manager responsibilities include working within WatchGuard’s Partner Ecosystem Growth team to drive successful partnerships and alliances that create non-traditional sales opportunities for WatchGuard’s portfolio of products. The Alternate Routes to Market Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in identifying and developing strategic partnerships with service providers, cloud marketplaces, and strategic vendors to expand WatchGuard’s market reach and drive revenue growth. The Alternate Routes to Market Business Development Manager will report to the Technical Director of Business Development and will work closely with the Partner Ecosystem Growth team to jointly plan and execute on a cohesive partner growth strategy. Success in this position will be measured by meeting successful development, growth, and retention goals with assigned strategic partners.
Position Responsibilities
Proactively identify and pursue opportunities to grow WatchGuard’s Alternate Route to Market business. Develop strategic plans and pitches to potential strategic partnershipsCreatively determine “non traditional” sales opportunities and partnerships based on WatchGuard’s portfolio of productsPartner with Technical Director of Business Development to manage existing partners and generate new alternate routes to market opportunities which will help grow WatchGuard’s existing partner ecosystemConduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and potential strategic partnersMaintain regular contact with assigned strategic partners to ensure satisfaction and continued successAccurately forecast and track strategic partner activities and transactions by quarterRegularly report on partner performance, pipeline development, and revenue generating activities for each assigned strategic partnerBe knowledgeable of all WatchGuard products, services, and internal sales tools Support strategic partners on standard methodologies and use of WatchGuard, including training & event supportCollaborate with product management, marketing, and technical teams to ensure seamless execution of strategic partnership initiativesOther duties and projects assignedSkills and Qualifications
Experience with two-tier/channel sales ecosystem requiredExperience with OEM/technology integrationsExperience in network/cyber security space requiredHistory of consistent plan development and quota achievementStrong presentation and written skillsAbility to self-manage and work remotelyLocated in assigned territory preferredFamiliarity with Salesforce or similar CRMFluent in the English languageExperience
5+ years experience in direct and indirect sales in related industryInternational business development / sales experienceBachelor’s degree or equivalent training in business, sales, or marketingCompensation
The base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $160,000, exclusive of benefits. This position is also eligible for commissions up to 30% of on target earnings. Your base salary compensation will be based on your individual skills, education, and experience. Please keep in mind that the above range is the full base salary range for this role; hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical in order to allow for future salary growth.
