Business Development Manager
Job Description

Winnebago Outdoors is seeking a Business Development Manager, Specialty Vehicles based in Eden Prairie, MN. This role will be responsible for finding, cultivating, and winning new commercial business opportunities.
The ideal candidate will be a strong self-starter and possess superior interpersonal and communication skills that results in a robust customer network and sales pipeline. This person will be a key part of the Specialty Vehicle's leadership team and may lead internal direct reports. This person will develop deep knowledge of customer needs, product offerings, and competitors to create and execute winning sales strategies.
Winnebago Specialty Vehicles is a leading provider of commercial vehicle platforms used in many applications, including mobile medical, dental, command centers, bloodmobiles, and many others. The market is growing, and we are seeking someone to work with the hospitals, non-profits, governments, and other end customers who need vehicle solutions to provide their services.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Design and implement sales strategies
- Define, monitor, and execute strategies to support annual and long-term sales goals
- Utilize leading and lagging metrics to regularly assess performance to goals
Generate Leads
- Develop and implement lead generation, nurturing, and management sales processes
- Identify and secure new business opportunities that align with the growth strategies
- Generate, qualify, and pursue leads in accordance with best practice strategies and techniques
- Understand market conditions, competition, customer needs, and sales opportunities to capture new business while growing current base
- Map markets and opportunity areas, prioritize, and define sales actions to reach target markets
- Participate in trade shows, conferences, trade organizations and special events to foster relationships with key industry partners
Manage and cultivate customer relationships
- Increase the quantity and productivity of commercial customer accounts.
- Develop, maintain, and expand dealer footprint to support business growth goals
- Act as a company ambassador to customers and the community; promote relationships in a professional, knowledgeable manner
Win the deal
- Collaborate with cross-functional team (engineering and operations) to complete designs, create quotes and proposals, and work through the selling process to get orders
- Communicate Winnebago Specialty Vehicle's value proposition to differentiate vs competition.
Knowledge & Skills
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) and the ability to do so at all levels, particularly with C-level executives on strategic issues; an executive presence
- Strong oral, written and presentation skills internally and externally of an organization
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build trust and commitment and influence others
- Highly organized. Effectively manages priorities and time.
- Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability; thrives in a changing and/or fast paced environment
- Self-motivated and results driven. A high-energy level and strong work ethic with a personal commitment to work outcomes; gets things done with a high attention to detail
- Proficient with MS Office tools (Work, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to create compelling presentations (internal and customer facing); adept at the use of data and analysis to develop insights, plan, monitor results and support decisions.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing, or related field
- Experience with commercial vehicle sales highly preferred
- Minimum 3 years relevant sales experience; Preferred 7+ years with proven record of identifying and winning new business.
- Experience within a progressive B2B sales environment with strong emphasis on sales pipeline management, account management and new business development
- Experience with CRM software and sales lifecycle processes
- Experience with government bid processes preferred
Additional Information
- Ability to travel domestically, estimated 25% travel for customer visits, conferences, and product training
