Description

This is a business development role in the Electric Vehicle Systems Business Unit focusing mainly on developing and growing the electrical/Architectural & Engineering/charging network sales channel and customer base. Will also provide feedback on market requirements and new product development priorities. Will lead coordination of the various sales channels and is responsible for sales team training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop the electrical/Architectural & Engineering/charging network sales channel for Electric Vehicle Systems products.
  • Work with the other sales channel representatives to achieve Business Unit forecast.
  • Develop customer accounts through an appropriate level of contact. Creates sales growth by securing business through strategic customer segments.
  • Coordinates and attends regional tradeshows, state and regional shows, and territory seminars.
  • Participates in pricing negotiations and contracts.
  • Works with product teams to develop products that will grow sales and profitability. Provides feedback to relevant managers to meet customer needs.
  • Works with the marketing team to ensure that marketing such as collateral, packaging, catalogs, Internet presence, etc., meets customer needs.
  • Provides customer service as necessary through warranty service, training, open houses, product application, and informing customers of product changes.
  • Establishes new relationships to earn customers' equipment specifications.
  • Researches and reports competitive threats and provides recommendations on how to respond.
  • Monitors and maintains sales goals and expenses.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.


Position Qualifications

Skills and Abilities
  • Is familiar and has experience with electrical contractors/distributors, architectural and engineering firms, and/or electric vehicle charging network operators
  • Is comfortable with and can talk intelligently about technical concepts
  • Familiar with electric vehicle charging/infrastructure concepts
  • Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion with business information.
  • Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Writes routine reports and correspondence.
  • Utilizes common-sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
  • Frequently makes decisions of both minor and major importance, which may affect the work operations of other employees and/or clientele.
  • Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.


Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, business management, marketing, engineering technology, or a related field (required).
  • Five to seven years of relevant experience in sales, marketing, or business development, or a related field (required).
