POSITION OVERVIEW

Alarm.com, a rapidly growing entrepreneurial technology company, is seeking ambitious and self-directed individuals with proven outside sales experience to join our team.

This is a unique opportunity to get in early to drive our channel partner and commercial business forward by providing small and medium-sized businesses options for smarter business security that includes video surveillance, intelligent intrusion detection, access control and energy management into a single-cost effective solution. This role is responsible for driving revenue through prospecting, on-boarding and developing new commercial and channel dealers into our partner program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Business Development Manager’s territory will include collaboration with dealers and prospects in EMEA and APAC, and primary job responsibilities will include:

  • Account Management – you will be assigned a set of accounts to manage via a collaboration with various teams within Alarm.com to support active Strategic Accounts in the territory. Focus on maintaining current production and work on strategies to grow account production.
  • Deliver presentations to Alarm.com partners around solution and product opportunities, and if necessary, perform joint sales activities with partners to drive account growth.
  • Work with a technical account management team to initiate and execute on-site/remote dealer sales and technical trainings.
  • Develop relationships with industry partners and educate them on Alarm.com’s offerings to influence dealer sales activity.
  • Attend industry association meetings and trade shows as necessary.
  • Interface with various departments within the organization including Sales Operations, Technical Support, Technical Account Management, Product Management and Marketing.
  • Learn and demonstrate an excellent knowledge of Alarm.com products and services (product training will be provided during onboarding).
  • Business Development – collaborate with International Strategic Sales and Dealer Sales teams to build a pipeline of prospective dealers in the territory as a supportive partner. Business Development activities will include, but are not limited to, the following: working with the BD team to support prospecting, education, piloting, and launching of solutions. Note, our business model suggests a consultative sales framework in B2B sales.
  • Support Business Development activities in accordance with International Strategic Sales objectives to expand to new strategic markets and new verticals within the assigned territory.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Located in Europe, preferred Amsterdam Netherlands/EU. Other locations could be considered for the right candidate.
  • Professional proficiency in English and at least one additional European/Other language
  • 2-4 years of experience in outside sales (consultative and Business 2 Business sales is a plus), account management, project management, business development.
  • Relative experience in the following industries is preferred – software and hardware sales, cloud services, security, CCTV, fire systems, installation, and service of intrusion/smart home/IoT systems, video, access control systems. Understanding and experience with B2B and B2C business models, marketing, and sales is a plus.
  • Experience in installation and support of commercial security products (access control, automation, alarm systems, and video surveillance) is a plus.
  • Drives results: focused on customer success, building relationships with business partners, setting up realistic goals and achieving them.
  • Self-starter: action oriented, highly motivated, possesses strong problem-solving skills, ability, and desire to work in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment, able to work independently.
  • Great articulation, written and presentation skills with the ability to present to wide range of audiences: technical, sales, management, executive teams.
  • Demonstrated passion for providing the highest-quality customer service.
  • Team player with an extremely positive attitude and flexibility.
  • Strong technical and computer skills and aptitude.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.
