The Business Development loan officer will be the primary relationship manager for Energy deals. Duties will include originating and negotiating loan terms for new Energy prospect loans as well as renewals and modifications for existing clients. Additionally, this position will originate loans for new business verticals developed by OSF and increase fee-based services, such as 3rd Party Servicing.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Understand risk-based pricing for negotiating loan terms with clients and prospects. In conjunction with the Credit department work to prepare loan committee presentations, draft term sheets, cash flow and collateral analysis.
- Using a myriad of business development activities, including direct to market outbound calls, building a circle of influence to drive referrals for the line of business.
- Meet annual production goals by using a consultative sales approach for new relationships by utilizing personal relationships, direct outbound calling and developing appropriate centers of influence.
- Be seen as a thought leader, both internally and externally. Including representing OSF at networking functions.
- Expand fee-based services, prioritizing and further monetizing our 3rd Party Servicing capabilities and supporting developing relationships with other financial institution for the purpose of selling loan participations for larger loan relationships lead by OSF.
- Be the primary point of contact between borrowers and OSF to validate and reconcile borrowing base certificates, to portfolio data reported to Bridge.
- Travel includes, but not limited to, onsite visits with prospects and clients for business development, account maintenance, due diligence and representing Oak Street industry events for the purpose of business development.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Support special projects as requested.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job
- College Degree.
- 3-5 years commercial relationship experience .
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong Excel and data base skills.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Sales and negotiation and sales experience.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
- Social Media engagement experience (linkedin, Facebook)
- Multimedia Studio experience
Level of Complexity and Scope
- Work is fairly complex with a mix of daily tasks and longer-term projects to manage
Degree of Independence and Decision-Making
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Confident presentation skills and ability to analyze data and make recommendations.

Physical Requirements
- Typical office setting which includes desk and computer work.
- Travel will be limited but may include occasional trips to industry events while representing Oak Street Funding.
