What you will do

You will be responsible for developing and implementing pivotal initiatives to support short- and long-term business objectives across Canada and the USA!

This person will provide subject matter expertise on Johnson Controls BAS/BMS product offering and competitive positioning and sales support for targeted national account customers, two-step distribution and direct contractors. You will work with our customers to understand their long-range business model and succession planning and M&A activities.

How you will do it

  • Work with Channel Sales Managers to provide focused growth initiatives and channel strategies, participate in financial forecasting and monthly operation and monthly playbook calls.
  • Review and analyze select market share data, current capabilities and business performance, and correlate product sales growth opportunities with the economic environment of the respective local markets including legislative, purchasing, and growth trends.
  • Collaborate with our Sales leaders, Product Managers and Engineering to develop and support BAS/BMS sales training and standard processes sharing around the portfolio of Johnson Controls products and how to present and position the value proposition.
  • Represent Indirect channel sales team on targeted showcase and customer visits and present JCI product value proposition of offerings as the need arises.
  • Speak at industry association events, participate in association committees, and represent Johnson Controls at professional events (Hardi, AHR, CGNA, BACnet, RealComm, IBcon, ASHRAE) and customer hosted events
  • Representing the voice of the customer (distributors, contractors, consulting engineers, and owners), provide VOC feedback to support JCI marketing team's efforts.
  • Develop and present tailored product sales growth strategies to the Director and Sales Managers to achieve the defined business objectives. Translate strategic and program goals to specific financial impacts. Build strategies and action plans, and gain buy-in on defined targets.
  • Work with the Director and Channel Sales manager to develop a standard process, and the development of Channel Account Managers around our portfolio of products and how to present and position the respective value propositions.
  • Builds and fosters a team environment; solicits support from and communicates effectively with internal staff and customers.

What we look for

  • Performs other related duties and projects as assignment
  • Minimum Bachelors degree in engineering, business management, or related field.
  • Minimum (10) years experience in BAS sales and sales management
  • Travel up to 60% of the time across the US and Canada
  • In-depth knowledge of North American BAS/BMS market, competitors, and industry trends
  • Knowledge of PowerBI, Salesforce and MS Office Suite
  • Requires experience and expert knowledge in HVAC, BAS, facilities construction and management fields, and the ability to integrate critical information from these diverse areas
  • Responsible, executive level experience in strategic program/project development and execution
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to effectively organize and present data
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Demonstrated public speaking skills and experience
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic sales coaching and training, TAS (target account selling) reviews and STAR (strategic account reviews) process
  • Experience in BAS product marketing and product development processes
