The team you'll be part of
The Customer Experience organization provides a common interface to customers including account and relationship management, acting as the voice of the customer internally and creating demand across our business groups. While bringing deep understanding of local markets for our customer, the CX organization ensures strong alignment between sales and delivery teams.
We are seeking a senior Business Development professional who is experienced in developing new broadband business opportunities (ISPs, MSOs, Telcos, Electric Cooperatives, Municipal/Small Government, etc.) for fixed network planning and deployment funded by government driven broadband grant and loan programs.
What you will learn and contribute to
As a senior Business Development Partner in the CX NAM Government Driven Broadband Initiative Sales (GDBI) and Partner Sales Office, you will utilize the breadth and depth of Nokia's sales and marketing force to provide business development support for the US Market. Your primary goal will be to proactively expand the footprint of Nokia's fixed network product portfolio with existing Nokia customers, driving demand gen and brand awareness for net new accounts, all funded by government initiatives (IE - BEAD, ReConnect, RDOF, NTIA Tribal, ARPA, etc.).
Successful candidates will possess a deep industry knowledge in the Tier 2/Tier 3 broadband market including client attitudes and behaviors toward emerging trends, market and service drivers. This individual will be well networked within this community in order to facilitate introductions and nurture relationships with clients, consultants, partners, trade associations and more.
Build the sales opportunity pipeline to secure revenue for Nokia in this highly strategic initiative and take share of the U.S. Government investment. The U.S government investiment in the development of fiber networks will enable many potential actors to design, build and operate fiber networks. The industry cannot scale organically to meet the number of potential applications seeking funding and Nokia's competitors have long standing relationships and mindshare in this segment. Customers are seeking turnkey solutions from funding to operations and Nokia will create a compelling solution for this market. This team will leverage Nokia's trusted brand status to disrupt the market at the right phase of the process for our customers. You will facilitate the capture of this government spend by focusing on engagement at the various governmental levels, developing key partnerships in the ecosystem including consulting and collaborating with business development.
Main Responsibilities
- Create and maintain strong relationships with internal leaders and teams supporting fixed network divisions including, Product Management, Technical Operations and Support, Sales Engineering, Product Engineering and Marketing
- Serve as Nokia spokesperson and representative to industry associations, State broadband offices, partners, consultant community, etc.
- Initiate, facilitate and support sales team efforts to meet or exceed predetermined sales and services quota
- Develop and manage strategy and pipeline government driven broadband initiatives to be able to effectively and quickly qualify or disqualify leads
- Implement, drive and support engagement plan in key targeted accounts
- Create and maintain strong relationships with internal leaders and teams supporting fixed network divisions including, Product Management, Technical Operations and Support, Sales Engineering, Product Engineering and Marketing
Your skills and experience
You must have:
- Broadband sales experience in Tier 2/ Tier 3 markets
- Ability to understand the fundamentals of grant and loan requirements, candidate qualification, etc.
- Excellent knowledge of fixed network market, strategies and offerings across the industry, including customer needs and competitive offerings
- Demonstrated strong sales process to develop and drive paths to purchase
- Proven business development overlay track record
- Ability to understand and sell complex products into dynamic environments
- Strong leadership and selling skills; highly collaborative work style
- Highly motivated and driven to succeed with the ability to travel and to work remotely
- Travel 25%-50%
It would be nice if you also had:
- Experience with municipalities/regional customers conditions
- Experience with government initiatives
