Your Role
The Business Development Associate/ Manager performs a key role in achieving that goal. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the position is responsible for day-to-day activities related to business development, sales, and PSC Biotech client support in the United States and globally. The incumbent is also responsible and accountable for the execution of the PSC mission, "to maintain the integrity and professionalism of our products and services while enabling steady growth and development."
- Generate leads, qualify prospects, and secure new business opportunities for Professional Services.
- Drive top line revenue growth through professional, consultative, and proactive interactions with all levels of customers ranging from key decision makers to front line employees.
- Conduct formal sales presentations and follow-up calls to prospective new business accounts.
- Solution Selling knowledge and proficiency. Evaluating Clients needs and providing multiple solutions.
- Knowledge of computer system services and computer system validation services.
- Knowledge of Equipment and Lab qualification and validation. Working knowledge of Thermal Mapping and equipment validation.
- Assess industry business trends to capitalize on emerging opportunities for business growth.
- Ensure proposals meet minimum standards for profitability.
- Ensure proposals account for items commonly overlooked, such as: travel time, project management, off-site and pre-site visit hours, and equipment rental, as applicable.
- Follow up on submitted information (i.e., inquiries, RFPs, proposals, etc.) as appropriate.
- Provide direct client support. Immediately respond to client needs to meet client expectations.
- Maintain documentation of sales activities in CRM, in order to facilitate appropriate reporting of client contacts, notes, opportunities, and sales pipeline.
- Existing knowledge of the life science marketplace and the demonstrated ability to quickly ramp up and build that experience on-the-job.
- Develop expertise in Professional Services and PSC products and services to enable the sale of these products and services to prospective client.
- Perform appropriate prospecting activities to identify qualified prospects for new business development.
- Develop and provide competitive intelligence on competing firms.
- Establish effective relationships with internal associates and external clients to grow an effective business team to expand Professional Services presence and business growth.
- Collaborate with appropriate internal resources to develop comprehensive sales presentation materials tailored to the client.
- Use a proactive, consultative sales strategy to effectively overcome client objections and maximize sales effectiveness.
- In collaboration with Business Development Management, develop effective proposals and persuasively close new business opportunities.
- Accurately forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue streams.
- Represent Professional Services and PSC Biotech at business development activities worldwide.
- Measure and manage customer satisfaction from PSC's Quality Management System (QMS).
- Contribute to the growth of PSC by contributing the overall strategy of the company.
- At all times, demonstrate the highest level of ethical behavior and personal integrity. Operate with the highest professional business ethics when dealing with clients, colleagues, and government entities.
- Analytical skills, coupled with strong technical abilities, and a genuine passion for existing and new technologies and scientific advances.
- Excellent communication and people skills are needed to succeed in this role.
- Ability to travel based on business needs.
Requirements
- 3-5 years proven business development, sales, and client support management in the life sciences industry. Professional Service sales experience highly desirable.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and closing new business opportunities in the life sciences industry.
- Experience in selling consulting services in the Life Science industry. Such as Computer System Validation, Commissioning Qualification Validation, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Auditing, etc
- Proven ability to generate a high volume/high quality sales pipeline.
- Proven record of delivering high quality presentations and business proposals/contracts under tight timelines.
- Highly organized in planning and time management, with the ability to multi-task.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Annual Salary Range (dependent on experience) $95,000 - $125,000
