With the explosion of information and data online, search has never been more important. However, while the world of consumer search has innovated over time, enterprise search has not. In fact, the majority of enterprise search is powered by outdated keyword technology that only scans for keywords and delivers a list of hyperlinks rather than actually answering questions. Yext, the AI Search Company, offers a modern, AI-powered Answers Platform that understands natural language so that when people ask questions about a business online they get direct answers â not links.
Yext is looking for a talented and dynamic Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our expanding sales team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to directly impact the growth of our business through top of the funnel activities that contribute to the lifeblood of our organizationâs revenue.

A Day in the Life of a Yext BDR:
- Work in our world class office 3 + days a week (subject to change). You arrive at the office, grab a snack, a cappuccino, and head to your desk to start your day.
- You log into Outreach to identify what tasks are due for completion today. You review your calendar to determine what meetings you have, and put a plan together on how to break up your day.
- You review your notes from your 1:1s with your Account Executive from the day before - theyâve asked you to start to focus on contacts within the Food Service industry, specifically Chief Marketing Officers
- You sign into LinkedIn Navigator, and spend the next few hours creating lead lists and adding contacts into sequences in Outreach.
- Your colleagues are brainstorming ideas for mailer campaigns, you join in and learn from hearing different perspectives on what works and what doesnât.
- Time flies! Itâs time for lunch. You head down to the food hall to pick up the lunch you ordered with your Yext lunch credit. You join a couple of BDRs and Account Executives on the rooftop to eat and enjoy the gorgeous weather.
- Back at your desk, you have a list of potential clients you are planning to reach out to via phone. You find a quiet space, and begin to call contacts on your list in hopes of connecting and getting a discovery call set up. You get a lot of voicemails, but you did have someone agree to a follow up call!
- Next, you begin to tackle your tasks that are due in Outreach. You continue to do research on the contacts youâve added so that you can ensure that your messaging is as targeted and on point as possible
- You join your colleagues for an impromptu Mario Kart challenge in the Yext Game room, and then wrap up your day organizing yourself for what you plan to achieve tomorrow.
What Youâll Do
- Utilize Linkedin Navigator, ZoomInfo, 6Sense and a variety of other resources to research and identify potential prospects within assigned accounts.
- Generate new business opportunities via calling, emailing, social selling and invitations to various events and tradeshows.
- Create compelling and tailored messaging to discover pain points, educate prospects about the Yext vision, identify opportunities, and generate interest.
- Effectively communicate the value of Yextâs services and solutions to prospects in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with your cross functional team of Account Executives, Sales Engineers, Client Success Managers in addition to your fellow BDRs.
- Support Growth Marketing led campaigns, ensuring task completion is 100% and timely execution to hit assigned deadlines
- Maintain meticulous notes and tracking of accounts and engagement, leveraging tools such as Salesforce.com and Outreach.
- Consistently hit your quota each quarterÂ
What You Have
- Ideal candidate will have a high desire to build a career in Sales
- 1+ years in the BDR function or relevant work experience
- Ability to work in fast paced, constantly evolving environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including experience with high-level interactions with internal and external contacts
- Exceptional ability to organize work and tasks; attention to detail and excellent follow-through
- Intellectual curiosity - you love to understand the âwhyâ behind what you do
- The ability to self-motivate. The BDR role can be unstructured - your success will be dependent on your ability to hold yourself accountable to getting the job done
- A spectacular sense of humor - being a BDR can be tough when it comes to getting rejection, but you donât let that discourage you.
