Business Development Representative

The primary responsibility of the Business Development Representative at Lightspeed Systems is to identify and engage with key K-12 roles to qualify leads and set appointments for sales representatives. We are looking for a seasoned BDR who understands lead nurturing and qualification techniques.
As a direct contact between potential customers and Lightspeed, you will play an essential role in making a great first impression, identifying prospective buyers, determining what their needs are, and providing recommendations on Lightspeed solutions. This role reports to the Director of Demand Gen within the Marketing team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Nurture engaged leads and determine if there is a potential to work together.
- Qualify leads from marketing campaigns and convert them into sales opportunities.
- Contact potential clients through calls, emails, social media, and direct mail; uncover market opportunities for our sales team; identify client needs and suggest appropriate solution.
- Facilitate meeting scheduling between prospective clients and sales.
- Share market intelligence with internal departments, including prospect pain points, competitive intel, and competing priorities.
- Continuously look for ways to improve lead generation activities and results.
ABOUT YOU - WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Articulate and confident phone and email communication
- An understanding of the impact of our products and how we solve our customers problems
- Great sense of humor, friendly, and motivated
- BA or BS degree preferred
- 5+ years BDR or sales experience
- Experience with Salesloft, Outreach, or similar tool
