The Business Development Representativeis a meaningful role in the sales organization that focuses on revenue generation for the Sales team. This role will proactively seek new business opportunities and develop relationships in untapped markets using a variety of tools and techniques for Amplify Account Executives. The day-to-day responsibilities will consist of outbound prospecting tactics, including cold calling, emailing, social selling, and more to engage with prospective customers. This role will have the opportunity to be a strategic contributor and collaborate with partners across Amplify to provide revenue-generating opportunities to the Sales Team.
The candidate will report to the Sr. Manager, Sales Development, and work closely with key partners across the organization, including sales, product, and marketing.
Responsibilities of the Business Development Representative:
  • Identify and qualify new sales opportunities with detailed criteria to determine if our programs and services are a match for their needs
  • Document conversation details and arrange appointments for the territory owner to advance a sale
  • Prospect potential customers via cold calling, email, or other forms of communication.
  • Acquire expertise in K-12 purchasing cycles as they relate to school districts, Title I, and other Federal funding guidelines
  • Participate in internal meetings and share relevant market feedback
  • Be up-to-date on Amplify product and market knowledge.
  • Use tools like Salesforce, Groove, and 6sense to track and plan sales activities.
  • Build customer-facing email content based on account & territory research and prospect interest.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives and Regional Sales teams to identify accounts to target, deploy effective outreach strategies, and conduct territory research.

Basic Qualifications of the Business Development Representative::
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven record of managing a high volume of leads with a strong outbound lead management cadence
  • Cold calling experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel to onsite meetings 5% (attend 1-2 team meetings and 2 national sales meetings)

Preferred Qualifications of the Business Development Representative:
  • 1-3 years of sales experience with an emphasis on cold calling & prospecting
  • Ability to advance knowledge through self-study, training, and experience
  • Experience collaborating efficiently with teams
  • Understanding of Sales performance metrics
  • Ability to see opportunities to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Experience with CRM software and Sales engagement tools
  • Strong creative-thinking, analytical, and time-management skills
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, persistent, diligent, and reliable, with strong probing skills

What we offer: Salary is only one component of the Amplify Total Rewards package, which includes a lucrative 401(k) plan, incentive stock options, competitive health insurance and mental health options, basic life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and access to best-in-class development programs. The gross salary range for this role is $60,000 - $65,000. This role is eligible for commissions based pay.
