About The Job
Dudek is seeking an energetic and innovative marketer to play a pivotal role in our 800-person employee-owned company. We're on the lookout for a proactive and dynamic Business Development Specialist who is not only passionate about marketing but also possesses a keen understanding of our business development objectives.
Our ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a strong business development mindset, coupled with exceptional organizational and communication skills. If you have a strong understanding and knowledge of the AEC industry, combined with an entrepreneurial spirit, you might be the perfect fit for this role.
As a key member of our cohesive marketing team, the Business Development Specialist will collaborate closely with our Business Development Manager, project managers, and technical specialists to drive practice group goals and initiatives, division business plans and firmwide strategic plans. You will be responsible for planning and developing marketing activities that align and support the growth of our practice groups, divisions and firmwide strategic plans. You will also play a pivotal role in offering mentorship and collaborating with the event coordinator to strategically outline conferences and events for participation, aligning them seamlessly with our business development initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Championing Client-Focused Experiences: You'll represent Dudek at external events, confidently articulating our services and connecting prospective clients with the appropriate Project Managers. You'll be the bridge that facilitates meaningful interactions.
- Nurturing Post-Event Relationships: Forge lasting connections by linking conference attendees with Dudek Project Managers before and after events. Share event insights and extract potential opportunities for additional collaboration or follow-up.
- Turning Opportunities into Action: Create and implement a systematic approach to capturing conference-generated opportunities within our CRM database, enhancing engagement with clients.
- Strategic Collateral Development: Collaborate with graphics teams to create impactful marketing collateral that synergizes with business development initiatives, conferences, and events, reinforcing our brand presence.
- Content Development: Work closely with digital channels teams to craft compelling digital marketing campaigns and content that align with business development goals, conferences, and events, further enhancing our brand visibility.
- Driving Market Intelligence: Conduct insightful market research to support the introduction of new services and potential geographic expansion, driving our growth trajectory in accordance with Strategic Plan and Division Business Plans.
- Developing Market Analysis: Scout, research, and forecast relevant professional organizations, conferences, and events, ensuring our presence aligns with our target markets.
- Elevating Thought Leadership: Assist in the development of compelling abstracts and secure speaking engagements that spotlight our expertise, positioning Dudek as a thought leader.
- ROI-Focused Sponsorships: Collaborate with practice leaders to assess sponsorship opportunities and evaluate returns on investment for different levels of engagement.
- Holistic Marketing Execution: Collaborate with our digital channels team to execute targeted marketing campaigns that amplify the reach of our initiatives.
- Enhancing Efficiency: Identify and refine internal workflows to streamline operations and enhance overall efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field
- 5 years’ experience in business development, event planning, and/or communications
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, SharePoint, Deltek Vision, and online meeting tools.
- Exceptional business writing skills that articulate concepts with clarity.
- Proven multitasking abilities, adept at handling numerous long-term projects and short-term deadlines concurrently.
- Strong verbal communication skills to effectively engage with internal teams and external clients.
- Self-driven and deadline-oriented, successful in independent work environments.
- Flexible hybrid work approach, willing and able to be in the office a couple of days each week.
- Ability to travel, with a requirement of approximately 10% travel.

Physical Requirements
Working Conditions:
- This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.
- This job requires occasional project site visits-based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, moving vehicles and equipment.

- This job requires working on a computer, sitting or standing for long periods of time in an office or remote office setting.

Proposed Salary Range: $85,000 - $90,000*
*Final agreed upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
