Job Description

Seeking an experienced researcher to enhance our business research center with top-notch support and solutions.

As a Business Information Research Associate within our research team, you will take the lead in exercising and sharing best practices, assisting junior colleagues, and working with Operations Managers and peers to create and/or promote initiatives designed to improve service levels, research output, quality, and cost effectiveness. You will have the opportunity to use your superior knowledge of market data products and sources, research processes, and your ability to build and manage relationships or deep partnerships with clients. This role will allow you to leverage your specialist knowledge of sectors, markets, or products to deliver valuable insights and communicate them effectively to key stakeholders.

Job responsibilities

  • Conduct research and respond to bankers' inquiries promptly and accurately, using superior knowledge to select the most appropriate sources. Ensure results are targeted and focused on the request.
  • Engage with clients by providing consultancy and high-quality research that supports our bankers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage market data effectively, ensuring optimal resource allocation in a cost-effective manner that aligns with business needs.
  • Support the training and development of junior researchers and bankers.
  • Build and maintain strong team relationships locally and globally, collaborating on or leading projects to enhance service and drive growth.
  • Deliver valuable insights and communicate them effectively to key stakeholders.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Proficient in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and essential technical knowledge of relevant market information sources, applications, and databases, e.g., EIU, Factiva,. Refinitiv, WIND etc.
  • High business acumen with sound and rational judgement.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and embrace change.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and perform well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Creative thinker with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in library and information science or Graduate/Postgraduate in any discipline
  • 5 years' experience in a similar environment is essential.
  • Strong understanding of the financial sector and investment banking terminology would be an advantage
