Business Intelligence Analyst
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Data visualization using Power BI
- Collaborating with team members for the purpose of collecting data and executing the company's mission
- Creating and maintaining documentation that includes the design, requirements and user manuals for the organization
- Identifying the development needs for the purpose of streamlining and improving the operations of the organization for efficiency and profitability
- Gathers business intelligence from a variety of sources including company data, industry and field reports, public information, or purchased sources
- Offer insight into the best way to visualize information within Power BI to be the most impactful
- Compiles business intelligence or trends to support actionable recommendations
- Design new data collection models to better collect information
- Coordinate with IT department to implement new models
- Perform data profiling to identify anomalies
- Consulting with management and relevant stakeholders to define goals
- Coach others in the use of Power BI and business intelligence best practices
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Experience with Power Query M language, and Power BI.
- Ability to collect and compile relevant data.
- Extremely organized with great attention to detail.
- Excellent ability to analyze information and think systematically.
- Strong business analysis skills.
- Works well independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle databases and understand technology-driven business intelligence tools.
- Self-driven and able to find improvements to workflows
- Flexibility to work with different departments and different processes
Education and Experience:
- 4 year degree in Business, Management, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Statistics, or Computer Science required.
- 2+ years of data visualization (Power BI) experience required
- Data extraction and analysis tools experience
- SQL experience
- SSRS experience
- SSAS experience helpful
Minimum Physical Requirements:
- Using hands, talking, hearing
