Business Intelligence Analyst

CallRail is looking for a business intelligence analyst to generate business insights and use data to inform decision making. This role will report to the Business Intelligence manager and partner with stakeholders including marketing, product, sales, operations and finance teams.

To be a great fit for this role, you’ll have an analytical mindset with a deep understanding of the role data plays for a business. You’ll have advanced knowledge of business intelligence frameworks, tools and SQL. The successful candidate will capture and report on KPIs in a useful way and communicate these findings to all stakeholders.

• Design and implement analytical solutions that track key business metrics and provide actionable insights utilizing business intelligence tools such as Looker.
• Enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible format to inform weekly, monthly and quarterly business reporting.
• Perform large-scale data analysis and develop solutions for trending, segmentation, classification, optimization, etc.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements, perform deep dive analyses and communicate the findings to help understand the value of the data.
• Identify actionable insights, suggest recommendations and influence the direction of the business by effectively communicating results to cross functional teams.
• Suggest improvements in the tools and techniques to help optimize and scale the team.
• Understand data warehouse elements at a detailed level to support any form of user needs from research to ad-hoc querying to managing large information projects.

• General knowledge of database concepts and data flow processes between systems.
• Understanding of business intelligence and data warehousing goals and principles.
• Experience interacting with business stakeholders, gathering and documenting requirements.
• Experience working in a BI tool such as Looker, Tableau, Business Objects, Power BI, etc.
• Experience writing complex SQL queries.
• Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills; ability to effectively communicate with business and technical teams, including an understanding of the impact that data visualization and aesthetics can have on communicating value of data.
• Excellent organization skills and the ability to multitask while efficiently completing high quality work

Bonus if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or related degree
• 3+ years of experience in business intelligence or analytics; Looker and advanced SQL preferred.
• Experience with Looker, GitHub, DBT and Redshift
• Familiar with Python, R, AI/ML and AWS Lambda
