Business Intelligence Analyst

Job Description

Work as a Business Intelligence Analyst within IT Enterprise Solutions. Be a subject matter expert for BI's Shared Services. Serve as a liaison between business users and the BI team's developers, QA specialists and Architects. Align BI solutions with the needs of the business - current and future. Assist with business process changes involving BI solutions. Collaborate with other teams to provide holistic solutions to business challenges that span multiple systems and processes. Help us to create a healthy data culture.

Your Responsibilities:

• Translate business requirements into specifications for new solutions or changes to existing solutions
• You will be working with business to analyze their needs for visualizing their data and combining their data to produce meaningful insights.
• Act as primary liaison between Business Users, BI developers & Solution Architects.
• Your responsibilities will include Data Analysis, Creating Semantic Models and Reports, Data Analysis, some ETL / Automation
• Provide training, guidance, and support to business users of BI solutions
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures

Technologies:

You should have experience in or exposure or desire to learn the following technologies.

• Microsoft SSIS, SSAS Tabular & MDX, SSRS, SQL
• Power BI: Reports, Dashboards, DAX
• D365, Power Automate, Power Apps, Git, DevOps, Jira, Data Governance
• Power Shell, Phyton, Matillion, Sisense, Snowflake, Data lineage
• Semantic modeling - Open-source tools such as DAX Studio, Tabular Editor

• The position requires a bachelor's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related technical or quantitative field, plus at least three years of experience in the job offered, or as a Data Analyst/Analytics Engineer, or in a similar IT or IT consulting role. ***Alternatively, in lieu of a bachelor's degree, four years of experience
• You understand Dimensional Modeling,
• You are self-sufficient in doing SQL queries
• Experience translating business requirements into technical requirements and sustainable data models/solutions
• You have spent time developing reports and dashboards, ETL, workflows
• It will be a plus if you have work experience with HSE and HR processes - in either a business user or an IT role
• Be able to effectively communicate insights to people who may not have a technical background
