The Data Analytics Analyst Specialist is responsible for analysis and interpretation of business data and market research findings and being able to make recommendations and proposals based on that interpretation to support the strategic objectives and business needs of the organization. This position will gather and synthesize information from multiple sources, and work with data scientists and other partners to shape data and deliver compelling content in a digestible manner, communicate effectively, and proactively identify ways to improve sales, marketing, customer service, and workforce strategy.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)
- A bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business, Engineering, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required; MBA or other post-graduate degree is a plus
- 5 years of experience in business intelligence or related area
- Proven business acumen and experience driving strategies using research, data, and analytics
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex subjects and articulate value and risk in clear business terms
- Understanding of data reporting, data visualization, primary and secondary research, and predictive analytics concepts
- Knowledge of Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, and internal business operations (e.g. ability to interpret financial indicators, read and communicate P&L statements, review customer contact metrics, etc.)
- Ability to understand and communicate complex, competitive issues including regulated and unregulated product/pricing decisions, customer service operations
- Consult with and influence business leaders at all levels concerning their organizational goals, needs and strategies
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously involving internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to effectively collaborate in highly cross-functional environments, engage diverse stakeholders, and translate significant information and varied points of view into insights that will impact CS&S
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Fast learner with a demonstrated ability to connect the dots and apply sound business judgment
- A customer service/customer-oriented mindset
- High level of proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and other presentation software and dashboard applications
- Knowledge of utility pricing, regulations, and other industry issues/matters is encouraged
This role will be responsible for the delivery of customer insights and business intelligence supporting CS&S strategic objectives and business operations and includes but is not limited to:
- Gathering and analyzing market data to understand customer trends and expectations and make recommendations to increase sales, communicate more effectively and exceed our customers' expectations
- Assist the Workforce Strategy team with analyzing employee demographics, performance and quality monitoring information, and other data to inform both the training content as well as long term workforce plan
- Assist Customer Solutions team in developing new solutions and sales leads through RFP identification activities and market research in support of revenue/net income growth, monitoring customer preferences and industry trends, customers' sustainability objectives, competitor- and peer-utility activities, and staying abreast of economic conditions
- Assist Marketing team with analysis of customer preferences and behaviors to drive personalized customer communication campaigns
- Assist Customer Service team with analysis of customer preferences, journey mapping, and best practices recommendations
- Communicate technical information and complex data to non-technical audiences in a logical and concise manner
- Establish external relationships to share/learn best practices and attain industry benchmarks and solutions
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies and communicate changes and innovation to CS&S stakeholders
