Business Intelligence Business Analyst (BIBA)

Overview:

Cinch Home Services, a leader and trusted provider of home management solutions is looking for top-notch talent! Cinch is seeking a Business Intelligence Business Analyst (BIBA) who is passionate about analytics to help deliver and modernize our capabilities as well as implement data governance in support of our exciting digital transformation, product development and growth strategy.

The BIBA will work closely with stakeholders at all levels within the business and IT to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. The BIBA will identify, and guide business intelligence, reporting, and data analysis needs associated with existing reporting and our planned modern data warehouse and analytics roadmap.

The ideal candidate is also expected to be a highly motivated effective leader, communicator, collaborator, and facilitator, possessing the highest level of business acumen.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Build a detailed understanding of the business to identify analytics needs and address critical business issues.
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions with business and technical stakeholders to distill business and technical requirements, priorities, define key performance indicators (KPI), and develop the BI and data warehouse strategy.
  • Conduct data analysis and collaborate with business and development teams to design, and document analytics dashboards, alerts, and reports.
  • Design and develop analytics and reporting prototypes and document solutions using industry standard tools.
  • Create and groom the backlog, document stories and solutions broken-down in releases and sprints using an Agile Project Methodology.
  • Present prototypes and documentation to team members and convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Champion data governance and provide data that is accurate, congruent, and reliable, to ensure the information is easily available to users for direct consumption or integration with other systems.
  • Analyze business processes and functional requirements and participate in the development of business cases in the support of process changes or projects.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Be accountable for project results along with business and technology owners.
  • Educate and train business to use data as an analytical tool, displaying information in new forms and content for the purpose of analysis and option exploration.
  • Lead, coach and motivate team members on a proactive basis in analytics and business / system analysis practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Skills & Experience Required/Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Math or Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience defining analytics requirements in an Agile environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience with Data Governance deliverables such as Business Glossary, Data Lineage, etc.
  • Minimum of 3 years' strong SQL and report development experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Business Objects, SSRS, Cognos, MicroStrategy, Tableau, QlikView, Spotfire, etc.
  • Exposure to at least two database platforms, such as Oracle, Teradata, Snowflake, AWS RDS/Redshift or MS SQL.
  • Exposure to at least two integration platforms, such as Informatica, DataStage, Kafka, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), etc.
  • Knowledge of operations data platforms and Analytic Tools such as Tableau, Spotfire, R, (etc.) is a plus.
  • MDM experience is a plus.
  • ScrumMaster certification is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple Solution Delivery teams and third-party vendors.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision to achieve and exceed goals and deliverables.
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where resources may not be in direct control of this role.
  • Strong business acumen, with preferred industry experience in Warranty/Insurance, Field Service Management, Finance, or Contact Center.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and facilitation skills.
