Business Intelligence Developer

A Business Intelligence Developer provides solutions for internal and external customers with timely and accurate information extracted from our business processes. Developers are tasked with designing and implementing User Interfaces (reports and dashboards) as well as source data analysis, source-target mapping and business and data rule definitions, metadata and repository creation and maintenance. Developers are expected to have strong SQL skills utilizing both relational and dimensional physical models.

Developers will be the primary interface to our customers and as such, should have good interpersonal communication skills in order to provide excellent customer service.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The job functions listed below represent the essential job duties and responsibilities of the above-listed position.

• Provide project specific solution design via reports, dashboards or data dumps.
• Analyze requirements using Source Target Mapping and Source Data Analysis.
• Provide documentation for the analysis requirements.
• Perform project-specific ETL design and development.
• Provide general process support.
• Attend meetings with customers to determine specific project needs and provide updates
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Understanding of source and target data structures and mapping.
• Strong SQL coding skills.
• Understanding of ETL processes and ETL applications to include Data Stage, SSIS or comparable product.
• Dimensional and relational modeling experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail.
• The ability to validate their own work, not just develop processes for others to validate.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems.
