Job Summary

Baird & Warner is currently seeking to fill the position of Business Intelligence Developer. The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for supporting the design and development of solutions using the Microsoft BI stack (SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS) and Cognos Analytics, including activities related to data modeling, report development, analytics and data feeds. The individual will work closely with business unit partners to help promote more widespread and consistent use of the BI environment.

We are seeking an associate with strong technical skills and aptitude, as well as solid business analysis skills. The individual should be able to assist in the assessment and documentation of business needs and assist in the design and deployment of solutions.

This position requires a local candidate for a mix of in-person and remote working capabilities.
Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Assist in aggregating data from multiple sources into the data warehouse and designing enterprise-level solutions using both relational and multidimensional data.
• Planning, designing, implementing, debugging, monitoring and troubleshooting BI solutions.
• Own, implement and maintain business intelligence tools, ensuring all data definitions and filters are up to date and accurate.
• Conceptualize, build and maintain reports, models, and dashboards around key metrics to monitor and ultimately improve sales performance
• Support for maintaining internal and external data feeds.
• Database administration - security, backup / restore.
• Create and update technical and business documentation.

• Ability to think strategically and balance a broad range of internal and external factors when identifying problems, proposing solutions, and making decisions.
• Report development experience using multiple databases and ability to understand complex ETL and attention to detail are critical success factors to this role.
• Knowledge of data warehousing architecture, techniques, design patterns and strategies.
• Comfortable navigating large quantities of data.
• Vision, initiative, and creativity in approaching technical challenges.
• Ability to build relationships and work effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels.
• Strong work ethic with a focus on meeting expected deadlines.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (computer Science, Statistics, mathematics, finance, or economics) or comparable experience/certification(s).
• 2-5 years of experience with an emphasis on business analytics, business intelligence, or similar.
• Experience designing ETL, data modeling, report/dashboard/visualization solutions using business intelligence software platforms.
• Experience with database development using SQL Server
• Knowledge of Visual Studio/SSIS, SSAS and SSRS
• API programming experience is a plus.
• Residential real estate, mortgage and/or title insurance experience is a plus.
