Business Intelligence Developer - Software Engineer II-GBT
Job Description
We are the GCIB Technology group serving the technology needs of the Global Corporate Investment Banking team in Bank of America. We are looking for an experienced BI developer for the role of Vice President - Software Engineer II to develop and maintain Global Capital Markets Technology Applications for GBAM (Global Banking and Markets) LOB. Key responsibilities include developing solutions and using best practices for implementing enhancements and product improvements for all applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in BI (Business Intelligence) Solutions (ETL & Reporting).
Role Overview:
Responsible for designing and developing complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry and have extensive experience in using design and architectural patterns.
Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements. Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, and business) in the design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Designs/develops/modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained. Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, data quality controls, dependency, and workload management. Mentors other Software Engineers and coaches team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack. Individual contributor.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of total experience in BI tools
- Extensive experience in BI Solutions (ETL & Reporting) using SQL Server/Oracle, Tableau, and SQL Programming using DDL, DML, and DCL commands for various business applications
- Expert at developing ETL interfaces using SSIS, Data marts/cubes using SSAS and enterprise reports Tableau
- Expert in writing complex Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, Triggers, and Cursors for various business applications
- Experience in Error handling and debugging coding issues and troubleshooting production problems
- Extensive Experience in RDBMS concepts such as Tables, User Defined Data Types, Indexes, Indexed Views, Functions, CTEs, Table Variables, and Stored Procedures
- Experience in SQL Optimizing by using SQL Profiler, Index Tuning Wizard, Database Tuning Advisor, DBCC Commands, DMV's, DMFs, and Query Execution Plans
- Expert in Extracting and Transforming data (ETL) from various heterogeneous sources and creating packages using SSIS, Import, Export Data, Bulk Insert, and BCP utilities
- Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing Concepts and Data Modeling Techniques like Dimensional Data Modeling, Star Schema Modeling, and Snow-Flake Modeling
Desired Skills:
- Good understanding of Normalization /De-normalization and database design methodology
- Programming experience with Javascript
- Working knowledge of Continuous build and deployment strategy using Jenkins and Ansible
- Soft skills like Teamwork, Communication Skills, Problem Solving Skills desired
- Bachelor/Master of Science/Engineering degree
- 3+ years of data visualization using Tableau 2020 or higher
- Familiarity with ThoughtSpot is a major plus

Jersey City pay range:
$71,900 - $145,000 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
