Business Intelligence Manager

Summary

This position is responsible for the entire life cycle of reporting data after cardiothoracic procedures to meet regulatory, operational, and performance improvement requirements. Externally, these data go to the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS), New York State DOH Cardiac Surgery, and the PERForm (focused on perfusion metrics) data registries. Internally, these data support the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, the Montefiore Heart Center, and Infection Prevention and Control. The incumbent will also support the Network Performance Group and other clinical departments through the production of reports and data extracts which will support new and ongoing performance improvement and research needs.

Education: Bachelor's required; Master's preferred

EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:
• Experience in data reporting, data mining, and analytics in health care or related field
• Experience developing intuitive data visualizations and analyses
• Proficiency programming in SQL
• Some experience in at least one data visualization software tool (e.g., Power BI, Web Intelligence, or Tableau) with a strong preference for Power BI
• Strong ability to understand, categorize, and translate business/user requirements to functional technical requirements
• Excellent interpersonal and writing skills
• Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, establish/enhance reporting/analytic procedures, and improve operational efficiency

PREFERRED:
• Experience with CT Surgery data or related clinical data
• Experience with Lumedx Apollo,Apollo LX, and HVA
• Knowledgeable regarding data specifications for STS and NYSDOH Cardiac Surgery registries
• Experience with clinical coding systems (e.g., ICD-10, LOINC, CPT, etc)
• Experience working with various types of health care data
• Experience working with EPIC electronic medical record and related clinical databases
• Excellent presentation skills
