Business Intelligence Manager

Landis is a homeownership company taking on the housing affordability crisis. Our mission is to guide people on their unique path to homeownership, and we do this through a holistic homeownership program where we buy a home for a client and rent it to them while we help them prepare for a mortgage. We are growing rapidly and looking for a Business Intelligence Manager to join our team. This is the first hire to lead our Business Intelligence efforts across the business. You will help build our strategy for ensuring a best-in-class experience for all clients and partners as they start their journey toward homeownership with Landis by leveraging data and insights to drive business decisions. This role will work closely with cross-functional counterparts and external parties to lead high-impact initiatives while offering ownership and autonomy over your work.
Where you will make an impact:
- Analyzing data to identify patterns or trends that could influence business drivers and decisions
- Writing reports and presentations that present data and findings in a clear and concise manner
- Working with senior management to develop goals, objectives, and strategies for improving business performance using BI tools
- Developing techniques, strategies and visualizations to optimize data reporting and drive business decisions
- Interacting with engineering and the business as a representative of the BI team to drive cohesive solutions
- Monitoring industry trends to identify upcoming challenges or opportunities for the organization
- Advocating for business intelligence solutions that will help the organization meet its goals
- Recommending changes to existing business intelligence processes or policies to improve efficiency
- Working with vendors to implement new systems or tools as needed
This is a dynamic role that will partner with other teams on projects such as:
- Building a scalable data infrastructure that meets the needs of the business as it enters a period of rapid growth
- Establishing a robust and efficient business reporting process and building key management and workflow reports with input from management and executive leadership team
- Proactively identifying trends in market trends and business performance, surfacing findings on a regular basis
- Building decisioning and projected loss models
- Offering support to the company’s Executive Leadership Team as needed

Your background includes:
- 5+ years of work experience in a business intelligence or related roleÂ
- Exceptional knowledge in statistics including regression, logistic regression, and statistical significance
- Solid foundation in machine learning algorithms and tools
- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Metabase)
- Familiarity with sophisticated data architecture and tools (e.g. data warehouses, data pipelines)
- Ability to translate quantitative data into strategic insight for high-level consumption
- Ability to influence others with strong collaboration skills
- Ability to operate independently with little direction
- Capability to develop a strategic vision and innovate to realize it
- Demonstrated success creating and driving efficiency improvementsÂ
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Business, Statistics, Engineering, MBA, Finance, Math, Mathematics, Technical, Economics
- Prior experience in financial services is a plus but not a requirement

In addition to our benefits, this role offers a base salary of $150k-180k, along with bonus potential that is paid yearly and equity in the company. The base salary varies and is determined by experience and skills that are unique to each candidate. The bonus potential is determined by individual, team and firm performance. Our existing employees are also eligible for an equity refresh based on individual, team, and company performance.
