Business Intelligence Platform Analyst

Job Description

Fragomen, an AmLaw 100 Firm and the leading global immigration services provider, is seeking a Business Intelligence Platform Analyst to join our talented Business Intelligence & Reporting Team.

Reporting to the Senior BI Platforms and Applications Manager, the Platform Analyst will be a part of a dynamic team supporting the maintenance of BI platforms tools including Informatica, Snowflake, Tableau, SAP Business Objects, and Crystal Reports.

How you will make a difference as a Business Intelligence Specialist with Fragomen:

• Will be responsible for supporting data and analytics platforms.
• Perform root cause analysis to analyze issues and report results back to the lead
• Perform server management tasks as directed such as installing patches, debugging software related issues, researching issues with vendor and / or vendor technical support systems and answering questions from developers on software related issues
• Good Understanding of Cloud concepts, AWS
• Troubleshoot issues and train users on the use of the reports.
• Collaborate with various teams within the business and in IT, to ensure the reports are built consistent with requirements.
• Monitoring and upkeep of BI environments.
• Serve as the BI platform administrator with ability to: quickly adapt to new systems and data models, work in a highly collaborative environment with minimal supervision.
• Review and tune SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers and functions as well as SSIS ETL processes to provide optimal performance.
• Build, promote and maintain reports and dashboards within Tableau, SSRS and Business Objects suite (Webi and Crystal Reports) using Microsoft SQL Server databases.

• Experience with Tableau
  • Configure and maintain Tableau Server Software Layer
  • System Administration (includes site creation, server maintenance/Upgrades/patches).
  • Change management including software, hardware upgrades, patches
  • Monitor server activity/usage statistics to identify possible performance issues/enhancements
  • Performance tuning / Server management of tableau server environment (clustering, Load balancing).
  • Create/Manage Groups, Workbooks and Projects, Database Views, Data Sources and Data Connections.
  • Manage and support migration of objects (dimensions, measures, hierarchies, reports, workbooks, dashboards), from development to production environments.
  • Provide appropriate training and support to business users on the use of Tableau interactive web reports, and Tableau Desktop.
  • Assist in the identification and migration of data sources to Tableau server.
  • Assist in development of workbooks and dashboards to support business initiatives.
  • Develop and document standards/best practices for development and administration of the Tableau platform.
  • Work closely with technical architects, data and software engineers to ensure optimal application and data database/warehouse design to support reporting requirements.
• Experience with SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.X suite of tools is a plus with emphasis on
  • Building and maintaining Webi universes
  • Perform configuration and tests to all business objects.
  • Administer configuration of all business objects.
  • Documents all business objects data and Meta data and supervise security of all areas.
  • Support to all SAP business objects and provide appropriate upgrade on environment.
  • Design universe on SAP Business Intelligence
  • Ensure compliance to all business objects and best practices.
  • Communicate project status to team members.
  • Experience with troubleshooting clusters for run time applications issues and performing root cause analysis
  • Setting up the monitoring of BO servers.
  • Setting up the auditing policies, and manage event and alerts related to CMS, Audit and Reporting Database services
  • Keep availability of BO Web applications CMC, BI Launchpad, and other applications.
  • Manage day to day scheduled report jobs from Instance Manager.
  • Handling the support issues from business users.
  • Monitoring the resources of BusinessObjects servers.
  • Manage user and permissions.
  • Manage Universe and Connections and other BI Repository objects.
  • User access
  • Crystal Reports troubleshooting (using stored procedures)
• Platform Server maintenance and monitoring
• Good Knowledge of BI best practices.
• Administer disaster recovery, backup and data replication for BI Platforms.
• Should be able to suggest the best suitable architecture & configuration, sizing for servers in various environments and platforms
• SSIS will be a plus but is not required
• A minimum of three years of relevant experience in BI, Platform management.
  • Expert SQL Server 2012+ development skills with emphasis on
    • Development of Transact SQL stored procedures and functions
    • Troubleshooting and Performance Tuning
    • Data Modelling and Analysis
• Experience with Informatica is a plus but not required.
  • Experience working with Informatica Cloud (IDMC)
  • Experience working on Informatica admin activities and support
  • Experience on Informatica Data Quality
  • Good working knowledge of ETL tool within Informatica
  • Should have good experience with Informatica Admin console.
  • Experience in administering Informatica accounts, data security and governance
• Experience with Snowflake is a plus but not required.
  • Develop Build & maintain mission critical centralized data platform using Snowflake with understanding of Snowflake architecture and Azure/AWS is a plus
  • Experience in administering Snowflake accounts data security and governance is plus.
• Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
