Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking an Business Intelligence Specialist with a bachelor's degree in a related field and technical experience in data analytics to support one of Stantec's key client's environmental data management needs. Must have a strong communication skills and desire of turning data into useable information.

This position is primarily responsible to provide data analytics and technical reporting services. The candidate should be able to work with SaaS databases and data-hosting solutions. Develop platforms for our clients and our teams to access and interact with their data. Create the right data architecture to achieve the best possible insights. Our clients also love the insights we provide through our dashboarding solutions.

Your KeyResponsibilities

• Experience in developing, maintaining, publishing and supporting dashboards using Power BI.
• Have good Experience in SSAS tabular model and DAX, sound knowledge in partitions, processing optimizations.
• Strong experience in publishing dashboards to Power BI service, using Power BI gateways, Power BI Report Server & Power BI Embedded.
• Experience in implementing static, dynamic row level security both in Power BI & SSAS Tabular model.
• Very strong on database concepts, data modelling, stored procedures, complex query writing, performance optimization of SQL queries.
• Experience in manipulating, transforming, and analyzing data sets that are large and complex.
• Collect and organize data, data warehouse reports, spreadsheets and databases for analytical reporting.
• Troubleshoot issues in reports related to data and investigate data issues in source systems.
• Expertise in R powered Power BI visuals and custom visuals would be an added advantage.
• Expertise in bringing BIM models into Power BI would be an added advantage

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Hands-on experience building data dashboards using BI viz. Tableau and Power BI
• Effective at communicating verbally and through documentation to technical colleagues.
• Effective at communicating with stakeholders across the business, from executive briefings to end user training.
• Incorporates, integrates, and interfaces technical knowledge with business / systems requirements.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 4 year's experience.

• Experience in Analytics (diagnostic, predictive & prescriptive), data architecture, big data, database is a plus
• Experience of data architecture and big data / databases is a plus

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills to explain complex technical topics in an easily digestible manner.
• Ability to prioritize and complete tasks as needed to meet multiple project deadlines and deliverables
• Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities to meet established and changing deadlines.
• Strong preference for candidates that can learn on the job and integrate with new systems
• Willingness to work independently and as part of a team.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including, but not limited to, inclement weather.
