The Global Revenue and Billing Management team is responsible for the accounting, invoicing, and payment management of Northern Trust's client revenue. The team is located in the North America, EMEA, and APAC and supports all business segments - Wealth Management, Asset Servicing, and Asset Management, and all regions - North America, EMEA, and APAC. The team works closely with the various business units and their respective Finance teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition and closing of Northern Trust's monthly books. The team is in the midst of a multi-year transformation that will migrate all clients to the best-in-class Oracle Revenue Management and Billing (ORMB) platform that will improve client experience, deliver enhanced controls, optimize workflow, and enable advanced reporting and data analytics.
The Business Management Sr. Consultant for Global Revenue and Billing Management, will work closely with the leadership team on a diverse set of business management initiatives that support the transformation program as well as the core business. The right candidate will be highly adaptable and able to flex a variety of skills including: business analysis, metrics management, project management, strategic planning, change management, and process optimization, all underpinned by strong communication and advanced Microsoft Power Tool skills.
Major Duties:
• Obtain, analyze, and summarize various sets of data related to client segments, operations and productivity.
• Responsible for the optimization, standardization and management of monthly management reporting.
• Business transformation and optimization:
-Partner with the management team to develop priorities to enable delivery of the overall strategy for the business .
-Drive change through prioritization and alignment of resources.
-Own and ensure delivery of initiatives, project manage where required.
-Work to align teams to business priorities.
• Business Performance and Planning:
-Optimize business performance by driving key initiatives.
-Participate in and track investment / productivity initiatives across the business to achieve multi-year targets.
-Develop ad-hoc analytics to help the business better understand and manage its costs, risks, capital usage, pricing, growth opportunities, etc.
-Regulation, Risk and Controls: work to understand the impact of new regulations or accounting rules on the business and how that may impact the business procedures and deliverables.
• Ad Hoc / General Business Management Support.
Knowledge/Skills:• Understanding of financial services, related products and services
• Business analysis - ability to work through uncharted territory, analyze new and large data sets, develop business understanding, identify trends, and make conclusions and recommendations.
• Knowledge of fee schedules, billing, revenue management
• Strong communication skills, together with influencing and relationship-building are important attributes for the role. The ability to maintain confidentiality is essential
• Cost management experience including preparation of budgets and monitoring expenses for large functions is beneficial
• Able to collaborate across lines of businesses and work with central/corporate organizations, building a strong network
• Translating initiatives into a presentation. Must be able to present findings and translate data into corporate presentations.
• Working collaboratively with business partners: HR, Compliance and Finance in order to support day to day business activities.
• Ability to operate autonomously with an ability to face off to the management team, demonstrates a willingness to take initiative and work independently, a problem solver
• Ability to understand the strategic business vision; focus on improving the bottom line
• Sound judgment, professional maturity and personal integrity, strong work ethic, proactive and results-oriented outlook, possess courage to ask tough questions and challenge the status quo
• Advanced Microsoft skills - PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI skills, Sharepoint, Teams
Experience Required:
A College or University degree in Accounting/Business/Finance or related field. 8+ Years within Financial Services, operations management preferred.
