Business Operations Analyst #576

Clearance:  U.S. Citizenship is required. Must be able to obtain the required government security clearance (CBP Final) 

Dev Technology Group is hiring a Business Operations Analyst to serve on the leadership team of the company’s largest contract. The successful candidate will have a high degree of financial management acumen, enjoy supporting the operational needs of a software development team, and demonstrate professional maturity in his/her approach to communications and relationship building. Candidate should also thrive in an environment which requires the flexibility in day-to-day activities required to effectively respond to client-driven priorities. Position is remote, with occasional travel to Ashburn, VA and Lorton, VA client sites to support staff onboarding and asset management activities (~2 -3 days/month).

What You'll Be Doing: 

  • Financial Management Activities
    • Partner with the Contracts and Business Operations Team to prepare client invoicing, provide information for/review contract funding modifications and validate Purchase Requisitions/Purchase Orders
    • Maintain program financial reporting to include forecasts, line item contract funding statuses and burn rate/estimates at completion (EAC)
    • Develop ad hoc financial analyses such as Rough Order of Magnitude and Level of Effort client proposals
    • Support development of client and internal management status reporting
    • Identify and implement improvements to financial procedures and tools
  • Program Operations Activities
    • Review and approve timecards; distribute task assignments to program personnel
    • Facilitate government security clearance processes
    • Support the project leadership team with team and stakeholder communication
    • Maintain and communicate the hiring status of program resources and resource count
    • Contribute to content in program collaboration tools such as Confluence 
    • Identify and implement improvements to operational procedures and tools
  • People Care Activities
    • Facilitate team member onboarding (training, system accesses, asset assignments) and out-processing
    • Oversee fulfillment of annual mandatory training requirements
    • Manage distribution and recovery of program assets (laptops, etc.)
    • Provide people care management (career development, advice on training, timecard/vacation approvals, etc.) to a set of team members (optional activity)

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:  

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of applicable work experience
  • Experience managing financial information via accounting and finance systems, communicating financial results, and contributing to financial and operational decision-making
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365, with particular emphasis on Excel
  • Interest in identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to professionally communicate with all levels of client, technical and back-office personnel verbally and in writing
  • Excellent relationship building capability – ability to apply logical thinking and diplomacy to resolve complex issues with a mutually beneficial result
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment which requires multi-tasking, organization and attention to detail in order to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to obtain the required government security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to travel to Ashburn, VA and Lorton, VA client sites as required

 Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Familiarity working within the government contracting environment - experience with federal government clients, experience with associated accounting and finance systems such as Unanet, GCS Premier, etc.
  • Knowledge of software development concepts and best practices
  • Experience operating within an Agile/SAFe framework
  • Familiarity with project collaboration tools such as Confluence and JIRA
  • History of providing people care management/career development for others (optional activity)
