The Business Operations team streamlines the day-to-day management and strategic planning of the business, operations, and finances. They work closely with cross-functional teams like Product, Engineering, and the Servicing teams to drive efficiency and scale our business. As a member of this team, you will use your analytical skills to drive operational excellence across our business and fulfill Valon’s mission of creating a great user experience for homeowners.

About the Role

Valon’s Lending team is looking for an intern interested in pursuing a career in the housing industry to join the Business Operations team for a 10 week summer internship. The intern will work closely with the Lending Business Operations, Sales, Operations, and Quality Assurance teams to develop domain expertise and operational processes that will help Valon’s Lending business scale. As a member of this team, you will develop and use your skills to gather business requirements for self-directed projects and develop and implement new processes.

Responsibilities

• Help scope out and stand up the Sales Operations function, which will be responsible for maximizing the conversion of inbound leads to the sales team
• Proofread all documented business processes for Valon’s Lending department and identify opportunities to consolidate, rewrite, and update our business processes
• Work alongside the Lending Business Operations team and help execute on mission-critical projects

Ideal Background

• Interest in start-up companies, financial technology, and the housing industry
• Prior internships in start-up companies or in financial institutions
• Comfortable in ambiguous situations and capable of pushing through uncertainty to identify and implement novel solutions
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets
• Experience working on data analytics platforms such as Looker, Tableau
• Experience using SQL
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Minimum Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in a related field with an expected graduation date of 2025 or earlier
• Minimum 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
