Job Description

Join Cartwheel to help tackle the student mental health crisis.

Kids spend most of their days in the classroom. And teachers and staff, who play a vital role in their development, are often the first to notice when something is off. But with 1 in 5 young people struggling with mental health, schools are getting crushed by a downward spiral in student crises and staff burnout.

With large increases in federal funding for schools and the rise of telehealth, schools are reimagining what mental health support can look like.

Cartwheel is an early-stage startup building technology-enabled mental health services that put schools at the center. We see our role as supporting on-campus counselors, psychologists, and school social workers who see kids every day. Instead of going around them, we collaborate with them. This means:

  • Earlier intervention
  • Higher student and family engagement in care
  • Better coordination among the trusted adults in a student’s life

Kids shouldn't just aspire to get out of bed and drag themselves to class. They should be able to experience joy. They deserve to envision and build a life they’re excited to live. If you join Cartwheel, you’ll help make this vision a reality for millions of students across the country. We’re backed by top investors including Menlo Ventures, Reach Capital, General Catalyst, BoxGroup, and Able Partners, and we're looking for mission-driven teammates to join our team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Business Operations Manager, you will be responsible for enhancing operational efficiency of the patient care journey. You will work closely with our Care Operations, Clinical, and Product teams to lead process improvement projects and ensure smooth change management. Your attention to process, excellent problem solving skills, and commitment to patient experience will contribute to the success of Cartwheel as we become the trusted mental health partner for schools nationwide.

WHO YOU ARE

  • 3-5+ years experience, preferably including both Management Consulting and relevant startup Strategy or Operations experience.
  • Excellent analytics skills. You can run ad hoc analyses using SQL and google sheets, you can build dashboards in google sheets and Tableau.
  • Excellent business case and financial modeling skills. You can build a robust financial model to drive strategic decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, ability to make a complex financial analysis understandable for a clinician or a care coordinator.
  • You love project management. You will become an Asana pro. You will work with a wide variety of stakeholders and effectively get them aligned and drive outcomes.
  • You love getting into the weeds. If a dashboard is broken you’re the first to dig through the formulas and the underlying data to understand why. If we need a metric or report but don’t have the data infrastructure built, you’re in the portal manually calculating it.
  • You are excited to lead strategic and operational projects as an Individual Contributor. This role is not expected to have management responsibilities in the near future.

The above is a summary of the role, not an exhaustive list. If you think that you have most of the above but not everything, please apply. We'd love to hear from you.
