Business Operations & Strategy Analyst

We are devoted to making the journey to and from school safer and care about student safety.  We develop partnerships, deploy Safety Tech for communities and school districts, and provide lifecycle program management for that technology while educating tens of thousands of drivers each month on student safety. We have equipped thousands of buses across North America with our innovative stop-arm enforcement technology and have an incredible growth pipeline of many thousands more. 

The opportunity: 

The BizOps & Strategy Analyst is an integral members of the business operations & strategy team. The team provides strategic insight and decision support across the organization and works with the most senior executives and board at BusPatrol. The primary function of the team is to develop strategy and incubate the most critical capabilities and analytical processes to improve the performance of BusPatrol. It has exposure and purview to every aspect of the organization and is tasked to develop and execute an operational agenda that will lead to highest value business improvements. Initiatives could range from developing predictive analytics models, managing field teams, running quality improvement efforts, driving process or product design initiatives, or standing up new organizations and functions within BusPatrol 

The BizOps & Strategy Analyst will report to the Associate Director of Business Operations & Strategy and is responsible for supporting organization-wide initiative development, supporting cross-functional processes, providing analytical rigor, and driving impact where necessary.  

What you will do: 

  • Understand the key drivers of BusPatrol’s mission and design metrics to appreciably impact BusPatrol performance 
  • Analyze data, build models, forecast performance from multiple data sources and present them in a clear and straight-forward way 
  • Extract insights from these activities to inform business decisions and suggest possible courses of actions for improvement.
  • Sets an example of excellence by proactively uncovering trends, prioritizing areas to target for the highest impact, and communicating them quickly
  • Support relationships and projects with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Work closely our Business Intelligence team to enable a data first company and drive continuous improvement 

What you bring: 

  • A bachelor’s degree and experience in strategy, consulting, finance/FP&A, engineering or broad operational roles (e.g., Rotational Programs, RLDPs, etc.) advanced schooling a plus but not required. 
  • 2-4 years of experience in analyst role or relevant experience
  • A “Flexible athlete” mentality, with expert skillsets in Microsoft excel. You find a way to automate repetitive tasks or build ways to shorten the path to a result in excel
  • Experience with programs such as knime or alteryx, or willingness to learn
  • The ability to chase down root causes and communicate the gaps between the solution and the current environment  
  • A detective’s mentality, that triangulates results and notices deviations in trends 
  • Comfort with change and ambiguity, excited to learn new topics and chase solutions that will lead to the highest organizational value
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and assertive - willingness to communicate all trends/outcomes of data in clear way to improve business performance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – ability to build logical storylines and influence in multiple situations
