Business Operations, Senior Director

Role Overview:

This role leads the Business Operations team, a non-technical Program Management Organization (PMO) that helps shape the future of Boom by working directly with senior leaders on critical projects that will further our mission of helping to make the world dramatically more accessible. The team drives operational rigor and harmony, with a focus on cross-functional alignment, exceptional stakeholder management, and managing high priority projects that are critical to the company’s success. A key element of the team’s work is to focus on aligning the company’s goals and objectives with effective day-to-day operations and process improvements that drive operational success for the company.

We’re looking for a Sr. Director, Business Operations leader that thrives on making organizations become more effective and scale excellence. In this role, you will be expected to have a deep understanding of how the organization operates and partner closely with stakeholders to create cross-company alignment.

• Program manage complex, cross-functional and high impact initiatives at the company
• Lead a team of program managers to enable strategic program management that enhances cross functional alignment and project success
• Lead Boom’s annual planning process and operating plan development, in close partnership with Finance
• Collaborate with cross-functional senior leaders to optimize operational effectiveness, both at a strategic and tactical level 
• Develop company-wide operational processes and policies to improve decision making and operational effectiveness 
• Manage escalation and execution of resolutions (as appropriate) for operational challenges/opportunities
• Build and activate simple, repeatable, scalable approaches that can flex to business needs and ensure information flows well throughout the organization
• Create briefs, narratives, dashboards and executive-level presentations to report on progress, flags, and success metrics along the lifecycle of top company objectives
• Work with stakeholders to define program scope, assign responsibilities, identify appropriate resources needed, and develop milestones to ensure timely completion of programs
• Proactively identify areas within the organization to scale operational excellence

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree
• 20+ years of program management or related experience
• A minimum of 10 years leading a team; proven record of success as a team leader
• Ability to translate strategy into execution.  Experience in developing marketing strategy and in driving marketing plan strategies into execution successfully.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously, on time and on budget
• Distinguished written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative relationship building style
• High judgment and self-awareness
• Bias for action, and propensity for resourcefulness and problem-solving
• Exceptional stakeholder management and executive presentation skills
• Ability to cut through complex issues to find quick wins and make progress
• Proven track record for driving alignment and communication cross-functionally within a company
• Quick and high-quality analysis and presentation creation skills using Google suite of products

• Salary range for this position is 175-200k and is based upon years of experience that is commensurate with the level of the position
