Business & Product Development Manager
Job Description
As Business & Product Development Manager you will provide input into the IGC growth strategy by identifying targeted government programs and future product innovations. You'll develop and execute on customer intimacy plans for the US Air Force and Space Force. Leveraging your interpersonal skills, you'll develop and manage the relationship between the organization and potential partners/sub-contractors as part of program and new product development pursuits and proposals. Keep management informed and part of the process by developing financial analyses and key insights to routinely elicit leadership feedback and decision making.
Are you up to the challenge?
- Provide input for IGC Next generation network and multi-orbit satellite service growth strategies
- Develop and manage the relationship between the organization and potential partners/subcontractors by establishing and cultivating relationships with key individuals at target companies
- Identify and develop new opportunities across the markets using an analytical and creative approach. These opportunities should be based on intimate knowledge of the requirements of the key customers assigned to you
- Provide guidance to cross-functional teams supporting new product development or program execution
- Identify opportunities for business expansion and develop and manage relationships in strategic markets and accounts that further business development activity
- Work with marketing, sales and technology groups to implement business development strategy into specific initiatives
- Analyze market data to identify opportunities and create 'out-of-the-box' growth initiatives. Work closely with Sales to understand capacity and demand challenges in region and look for solutions
- Develop capture plans for new business within the 5-year operating plan
- Partner with sales to execute capture plans within the current operating plan year
- Partner with the product development team to ensure product availability aligns with capture milestones
- Identify key customer relationship gaps and develop contact plans to increase customer intimacy
You should definitely have:
- Experience selling and positioning communications solutions with the US Air Force and US Space Force
- 4-year degree from an accredited university
- At least 10-years of SATCOM experience working in business development, program management, and product management
- Ability to effectively interact with management at key customers and industry partners at all levels
- Highly developed knowledge of business acumen, regulatory regimes, technical capabilities and product portfolios
- Excellent people skills with the ability to establish mutually beneficial relationships.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; effective presentation preparation and delivery
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (estimated to be about 20% of time)
It would be nice if you had:
- MBA
- Engineering background
- Experience with a Customer Relationship Management tool (MS Dynamics or Salesforce)
- Experience managing government communication programs
- Product development experience
