As part of a strategic transformation effort in our Individual Life and Financial Services (ILFS) division, we are re-imagining how we serve our distribution partners and customers through a digitally enabled sales, service, and policy administration experience, activating self-service & CRM capabilities across the entire end-to-end customer journey. As part of this effort, the Business/Digital Program Director will lead the visioning, planning, solutioning and execution of mission critical programs that advance digital capabilities and position us more competitively in the marketplace. This role will be instrumental in delivering our mission to be there when our customers need us the most.

In this role, you will -

Spearhead priority programs to bring significant value to the enterprise, specifically aligned to achieving the strategic objectives for the ILFS division of OneAmerica. Reporting directly to the leader of ILFS strategy, planning & execution ,this role is accountable to lead research, analysis, detailed planning and design, development and execution of an end-to-end strategic roadmap to build and optimize digital capabilities within ILFS, specifically to improve the producer, policyholder and associate experience through integrated web, mobile, CRM and self-service programs while partnering with enterprise partners, external vendors, distribution leadership and key field partners. This role will act as the business lead and sponsor within the ILFS strategy, planning and execution team, bringing technical and industry expertise to develop and drive strong execution of our future state digital vision and plan, ultimately with decision-making authority for strategic digital enablement for ILFS stakeholders. The objective is to pursue our future state vision, drive results and provide ILFS and the enterprise with assurance that the desired business value of the transformational programs is achieved.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accountable as the business sponsor for ILFS web strategy and end to end digital program work
  • This role is responsible for aligning business strategy and outcomes to the Persistent Teams for web, mobile, and CRM as well as Project based work.

  • This role partners with Enterprise Partners in shared accountability to digital outcomes for the line of business
  • Accountable for developing and executing integrated roadmaps that bring near-term and long-term value to improve distribution partner, customer, and associate experiences
  • Provide end-to-end business program management services for execution and delivery
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues for programs
  • Develop and deliver an effective communication strategy for programs
  • Provide sound financial management for the programs
  • Lead and direct project managers, scrum masters and vendor partners accountable for delivery of workstreams for the programs
  • Lead implementation and monitoring of efficiency improvements within the programs
  • Empower teams by contiguously defining and expanding role responsibilities and impact
  • Consistently demonstrate committed partnership and engagement with business lines and enterprise functions:
    • Align with Digital and Customer Experience practice areas, Enterprise Architecture, IT, Operations, Enterprise Marketing, and other key business leaders to ensure ILFS end-to-end process/experience ecosystem strategy incorporates new technologies and capabilities that fit the business's strategic initiatives
    • Partner with ILFS Planning & Execution, Project Review Board & the Enterprise Governance Committee to create a best practice approach to gather, synthesize and prioritize needs across various stakeholder groups, leveraging an outside-in approach
    • Assist in the execution of programs with matrixed teams to surface cross-dependencies and deliver on initiatives
    • Help in shaping the opinions of, and negotiate with, other senior leaders on matters of the end-to-end process/experience ecosystem strategy; establish collaborative relationships across the enterprise
    • Take an enterprise approach by collaborating with cross-functional teams to build capabilities that can be deployed across multiple lines or functions (e.g. ILFS, RS (Retirement Services), EB (Employee Benefits), etc.)
    • Collaborate within the team to build alignment with the Digital, CRM, Data, ECM roadmaps and strategies
    • Develop and periodically refine systems upgrade strategy that considers functionality, efficiency as well as risk mitigation for unsupported or obsolete systems
    • Lead, inspire and effectively activate project teams with urgency while creating clarity; ensure change management plans are created and executed

Job Requirements

Required Education and/or Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience

Recommended Education and/or Certifications

  • Program (PgMP) and Project Management (PMP) certification is ideal
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) - certification in agile, design thinking and/or PM is ideal

Required Work Experience

  • An exceptional leader with 10+ years' of demonstrated success in driving major projects, programs and business transformation initiatives
  • Highly skilled with 15+ years' experience working with various financial/insurance platforms and systems.
  • Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background

Salary Band: 07B

This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in IN as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
