We are seeking Business Risk Services Interns in our Specialized Advisory Services line for our Baltimore, MD office.

In this role, you will be involved with Business Risk Services (BRS) engagements including assessment of business process and information technology/security control design, control testing and service auditor reporting requirements, such as SOC 1 and SOC 2. You will also be involved in the assessment of risk and performing consulting as part of outsourced, internal audit to multiple organizations and business. This role takes direction from the BRS Practice Leader, BRS Engagement Director/Manager/Senior, Engagement Principal(s), and the firm's technical assurance group.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ability to deliver high level of client service through positive interactions with clients in multiple industries, CLA staff and external entities that serve the client(s).
  • Ability to demonstrate awareness, understanding of client's technical environment and business processes through discussions and review of available information with an emphasis on controls relevant to the business, network, security devices, servers and end-user computing devices.
  • Ability to analyze processes and adequacy of controls related to business processes that support our client's information technology infrastructure and systems that impact our client's internal controls over financial reporting, including information technology general controls.
  • Ability to analyze processes and adequacy of controls related to our client's information and systems to ensure data security, integrity, or availability
  • Ability to analyze processes and adequacy of controls related to administration of technical components including logical access, change management, data management and physical environment.
  • Communicates status of project including issues that need immediate attention to BRS Senior/ Director/Manager.
  • Knowledge of internal controls with ability to identify key controls relevant to the processes and services of the client organization.
  • Facilitates and/or participates in the execution of the technical examination process including definition of examination scope, control evaluation, test activities, reporting, issue resolution, and risk assessment for assigned examination control objectives.
  • Performs risk assessment and internal control tests as identified by the Client Engagement leader(s).
  • Reports results of tests to team Senior/Director/Manager in a timely manner.
  • Documents supporting audit evidence in alignment with firm standards.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Working towards the achievement of a bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting, Business, or Management Information Systems. Double major in MIS preferred, or information systems minor preferred.
  • Working to obtain CPA, CIA, CISA, CRISC and/or CISSP certification preferred.

  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client sites.
