Role Description:
The Business Solution Lead will oversee a specific Network Strategy & Solutions opportunity area, and be responsible for defining, prioritizing, coordinating business solutions for Network Strategy & Solutions related initiatives as a Program Epic Owner. The Program Epic Owner resides at the Portfolio level of the Agile framework and ensures appropriate alignment of scope to business capabilities and works with technology teams to refine epics and support feature decomposition. The Program Epic Owner supports the end to end solution efforts and value stream capability enhancements, looking across value streams and other enterprise projects to ensure the creation of a holistic solution across initiatives that delivers incremental business value. The Program Epic Owner is also responsible for developing end to end solution guidance in partnership with business sponsors and delivery leads by driving activities to identify business capability uplifts and business solutions that maximize business value and enable defined business strategies.
This role in particular will lead Operational Readiness across the program, partnering with business and technology leads and SMEs to ensure operational readiness activities are defined and aligned to appropriate features/stories within a Business Capability domain, as well as management of program-level readiness activities.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with business and technology leads to define and refine business requirements
- Identify business needs and facilitate business SME representation to support Epic refinement and decomposition into Features.
- Compose Program Epics aligning business solutions and value in partnership with business and technology teams to
- Stand up and manage an Operational Readiness Kanban team process
- Gather capability requirements to specify the high-level business needs, and draft portfolio epics
- Develop and document solution / solution alternatives at the end to end solution and/or value stream and capability enhancement level in conjunction with enterprise architecture.
- Orchestrate prioritization of scope with relevant delivery teams, support new scope intake into delivery team backlogs to ensure cross-program linkages are established, business dependencies are managed and delivery is planned
- Mobilize execution phase by educating delivery team on strategic intent, scope, capability needs, and operating model
- Stay engaged in execution to ensure strategic intent is achieved; assist in facilitating decisions and resolving major issues/risks
- Monitor timeliness of execution and value realization along the targeted benefits schedule
- Some travel required (10%)
Technical Skills & Demonstrated Knowledge:
- Ability to groom an opportunity from high-level concept to well-defined solution ready for implementation
- Strong business acumen, with ability to apply health care industry knowledge base to new problems and opportunities
- Ability to map out a high-level value chain in order to identify the major business functions involved and to inform IT architecture
- Good sense of the level of detail IT needs to size work in order to inform prioritization and confirm capacity to deliver
- Strong decision facilitation skills, able to define options and their implications, and broadly socialize recommendations
- Excellent oral, written presentation and communication skills
- Ability to lead and influence in a matrixed environment is critical
- Ability to drive to results independently
- Ability to develop strong relationships with both business and IT leadership
- Understand current state processes and diagnose pain points; determine root causes and their magnitude
- Design future state processes to deliver new solutions and resolve operational pain points
- Leverage understanding of emerging technologies to identify opportunities to automate processes
- Identify potential failure points in future state processes, and define metrics to monitor and control
- Facilitate decisions regarding which business areas will perform each major process step

- Experience delivering solutions to improve operational quality, including workflow configuration to increase adherence to policies, controlling for handoffs where drops occur, providing information needed to inform process decisions, and establishing quality auditing functions
- Experience developing cross-organizational value streams, showing E2E workflow and associated process data
Knowledge/Competencies:
- 5-10 years of related work experience, either as a management consultant, business architect, business analyst, business process engineer, program manager, or product manager
- Proven ability to effectively communicate with partners to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions and strategies, including effective presentation skills.
- Strong business acumen, with proven ability to leverage knowledge base to quickly come up to speed in new business areas and new types of projects
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, embrace change and help others see the opportunity
- Comfortable with raising questions, issues, ideas or suggestions to co-workers at all levels across all organizations.
- Excellent communication skills - verbal, written and training, along with excellent presentation skills and information discernment based on audience (executive vs stakeholder vs delivery team).
- Ability to work in a matrix environment
- Work both independently and in conjunction with co-workers of all levels
- Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office tools
- Bachelor's Degree
Preferred:
- Experience in change management evaluation, planning and execution. ADKAR experience desired.
- Experience evaluating, developing and implementing business processes, measurement systems, and dashboards
- Agile and Project Management certification preferred (PMI, POPM, CSM, RTE, STE); six Sigma training also valued
- Prior healthcare, claims engine and EDI experience desired
- Master's Degree preferred (e.g. MBA, MHA, MPH)

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 99,200 - 165,300 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
