Job Summary

The Business Support Specialist is responsible for EDI (Electronic Data Integration) onboarding and support for new and existing customers. The Specialist will maintain a successful onboarding experience by communicating between both internal and external specialists to ensure all business and technical requirements are being met for the mutual client's EDI implementation. This position is customer facing and will require both excellent customer service and technical skills.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate with vendor's EDI specialist and OneAmerica's EDI programming team to set up new EDI requests for mutual clients.
  • Create and provide customer requirements to vendor's EDI specialist to ensure EDI implementation follows the customer's contract and billing requirements.
  • Work with OneAmerica's EDI programming team to ensure all necessary requirements are received for successful implementation.
  • Work with vendors to receive test files, review for accuracy, and provide decision for EDI production approval in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with vendors and OneAmerica's EDI programming team to resolve any technical issues regarding a customer's EDI process.
  • Provide timely communication to vendors and customers regarding EDI requests.
  • Act as a primary contact for all EDI technical support issues for Employee Benefits Operations team.
  • Participate in special projects and assignments as needed.
  • Complete FTP File Changes as well as Adds and Changes work dependent on current workload.
  • Review, test, and manage the connected companies for integration to the Employee Navigator Portal.
  • Complete and review group structure codes prior to file generation.
  • Work with brokers and Employee Navigator to resolve data discrepancies that occur during processing.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma / GED.
  • Associate degree recommended.
  • Customer Service Focused / Previous customer service experience required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills.
  • Self-accountable with time management skills.
  • Previous of analytical experience & works well with data.
  • Adaptability and openness to diverse perspectives.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Forward thinking, willingness to continually learn and knowledge share.
  • Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Salary Band: 03B

This selected candidate will be expected to work Hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, WI, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
