Business Systems Analyst Intern (Summer)

The Elevator Pitch

Do you want to gain hands-on experience in Business Systems and analysis? Are you eager to learn and develop critical skills for your future career? Do you want to help drive our high velocity software development team forward?

In this 10-week Business Systems Analyst Intern role, you will help to improve our ability to define features thoroughly, yet quickly by developing access to system and process documentation. With your help in system and process documentation, this will prevent barriers to requirements and requirement gaps by presenting documentation in a better way.

Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes over the first half and second half of the internship you will work toward completing?

In the first 5 weeks, you will:

• Understand Evolv, our product and culture, what we do, and why we do it
• Develop a well thought out approach and plan to complete the system documentation along with some progress to show
• You should have the ability to document new features in small scope based on the outcomes of PRD (Product Requirements Documents) reviews, systems analysis, and user research

In the last 5 weeks, you will:

• Develop well written system documentation, clearly defined iterative new features, and documented process flows
• Present your final project to the team and peers
• Have a better idea of what you want or don’t want out of your career

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

• Think outside of the box to create a standard for system and process documentation that's easy to read but thorough and highly effective
• Define and manage a list of priorities
• Communicate your plan, progress, impediments and deadlines
• Gather information independently, from existing documentation, completed tasks, development notes and from asking questions
• Develop an effective template for system documentation within the internship timeframe
• Deliver documentation and requirements within +/- 2 days from the deadline
• Define 1-2 new features every 2 weeks to add to the backlog

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team?

• You will be joining the R&D Software Team and reporting to the Technical Product Manager. The team has a range of experience levels from entry, mid and senior.
• The team culture is one based on building trust, collaboration, on-going development through kindness, authenticity, courage, drive and fun!

Where is the role located?

• The location of this role is based in Waltham, MA with some flexibility in being remote some days.
