Business Systems Analyst Specialist

Position Description

The BSA Specialist - Metasolv is responsible for the deployment and support of Zayo’s MetaSolv application. They will be responsible for ensuring maximum uptime by maintaining both our production and disaster recovery environments.

Responsibilities

Systems Administration

• Synchronize TEST and DEV with PROD ensuring we are developing and testing against latest data
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures
• Contribute to and maintain system standards
• Self-initiation of administrator duties to ensure a smoothly running system
• Weekly user audits to ensure compliance of our license agreement

Operations and Support

• Resolve day-to-day issues that are reported by users
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures
• Perform daily database administration procedures to support various projects and operational needs
• Provide data extracts to requesting Product Groups
• Support Windows and Linux admins

Maintenance

• Upgrade and configure system software
• Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures
• Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
• Perform ongoing performance tuning, upgrades, and resource optimization as required.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of Oracle database, SQL, PL/SQL, UNIX Shell scripting
• Basic DBA skills to perform db restart, restoring db to pre-upgrade state, etc.
• Solid understanding of MetaSolv data structures, data modeling, database design
• Solid understanding of WebLogic software
• Admin level understanding of Windows Server and RHEL to install, build and deploy new MetaSolv clients
• Solid understanding of IIS (Windows Web Server)
• The ability to collaborate across functional groups
• The ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
• Proven ability to independently perform database development, testing, implementation and documentation
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical issues and resolve problems at all levels of the organization both internally and externally
• Solid business analysis skill. Must have good inter-personal skills
• Must be comfortable in rapidly changing environment
• Keen attention to detail and complex problem solving abilities from operational and technical perspective
• Ability to work independently and engage supervisor as needed
• Experience documenting and analyzing processes, procedures, and/or policies
• Ability to handle full workload and meet proposed deadline

US Base pay range: $63,750 - 93,500 US, commensurate with experience.

Canada Base pay range: $53,500-77,990 CAD, commensurate with experience.
