The OpportunityAs the Chief Financial Officer for the WillowTree business unit of TELUS International, you will guide, lead, and envision the future of WillowTree through our next phase of growth in partnership with TELUS International. To achieve this, you will lead a team of 18 (3 direct reports) and be one of the key catalysts between WillowTree and TELUS International as we set out to grow thoughtfully over the many years to come. As a member of our Executive Leadership team at WillowTree, you will also be a vital contributor to the strategy and direction of our organization, not only in finance.Â
LocationOur Chief Financial Officer for the WillowTree business unit of TELUS International will be an integral part of our leadership team at WillowTree. To help retain our deep culture of collaboration with the leadership team and throughout the company, the role will be in the office in our Charlottesville, VA headquarters. Â
Responsibilities- Dual reporting role to the CFO of TELUS International (Vanessa Kanu) and the President of WillowTree (Tobias Dengel).
- Leads all aspects of WillowTree-wide finance strategy, execution, and financial modeling including budgeting and headcount/resource planning, analysis, multi-year planning, short and long-range forecasting, financial narratives, cash flow analysis, balance sheet analysis, financial presentation packages, and communication of risks/opportunities.
- Extensive involvement in business system implementations, such as ERP systems, PSA systems, and/or HCM systems.
- Cross-collaboration with Business Development + Project Delivery teams to ensure updated revenue forecasting and optimization.
- Partnering with Legal in the review of client contracts and ensuring alignment with WillowTree operating approachÂ
- Guiding adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and ensuring processes are up to standard
- Oversight of financial reporting responsibilities under IFRS to TELUS International
- Key contributor and stakeholder in Mergers & Acquisitions due diligenceÂ
- Management and mentorship of the Controllers (WillowTree + Poatek), Accounting team, and FP&A team Â
- Hands-on leadership in component audits with TELUS International
- Build and establish quarterly financial objectives that align with the company’s plan for growth and expansion
- Review and ensure the application of appropriate internal controls, compliance, and financial procedures
- Ensures the interpretation/communication to WillowTree’s Executive Leadership team and TELUS International’s Finance leadership team is clear, accurate, and concise to make informed decisions.
- Acquires, nurtures, and deepens relationships with all business partners to enable effective development and execution of core Finance activities.
- Provides financial direction to Steering Leadership as well as identifies and makes recommendations to senior management regarding the areas of concern and actions required to meet financial commitments. The technical and business capacity must merge together to manage the what-if scenarios and modeling capabilities used to support this diverse set of stakeholders.
- Deep knowledge and experience in a financial leadership role within an international and publicly traded organization
- Knowledge and understanding of IFRS/GAAP principles and how they apply to business cases and processes
- History of thriving in a fast-paced and quickly evolving organization
- Builder, developer, and leader of high-performance finance teams
- Extensive presentation experience on the topic of financials or forecasts to various audiences and levels
- Leadership stakeholder experience collaborating with auditors, developing internal controls, and adopting compliance-related processes
- Hands-on project manager with experience leading system implementations, M&A integrations, and company-wide initiativesÂ
- Has been a key contributor in evaluating, completing, and integrating strategic acquisitions
- Public accounting experience at one of the top-tier accounting firms
- Experience within a digital product consulting or professional services organization
- CPA or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance
WillowTree offers competitive compensation, a great culture, and interesting work with opportunities for growth and development. The estimated starting salary range for this position is between [$225,000 – $300,000 (USD)]. The salary offered will vary based on one’s relevant skills, qualifications, and expertise evaluated during the interview process. To drive ongoing pay equity for team members, WillowTree conducts regular salary comparisons across categories of race, ethnicity, and gender.
*In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for WillowTree’s full benefits package including healthcare, flexible PTO, 401k match, and more. (link) This role is also eligible for grants upon hire as part of WillowTree’s Performance Incentive Program. The salary range above is only applicable for jobs to be performed onsite or remotely in the US.
