Summary
This role provides leadership, direction and management for a large geographic area within the Simplot Grower Solutions footprint. The Business Unit Director (BUD) role is responsible for running all areas of the business within its geography, including sales, sales strategy, operations and logistics, grower pricing and implementation of the portfolio strategy, safety, and overall P/L for the business. The BUD is responsible for bringing the SGS strategy to life and model the behaviors required for the strategy to be successful for their teams.
The preferred candidate will sit within the region (Idaho, California, Washington, Oregon, Montana, Northern Nevada).
Key Responsibilities
- Set sales and people development strategy and direction of the business unit assigned by geographic area, to include full P&L responsibility, execution of the operations and safety strategy, etc.
- Develop area business plan to include supporting capital budgets / improvement plans. Pushes down objectives and priorities throughout markets in alignment with the overall SGS strategy.
- Responsible for the Customer Relationship strategy to include pricing and achieving customer segmentation strategy. Leverage collateral, data and tools from Customer Experience to drive best in class experiences for growers.
- Lead overall sales growth activities in partnership with technology, operations, business development, digital, field services, and peer positions.
- Builds an effective team through recruitment, selection, coaching, development, training, and modeling effective management techniques. Establish accountability with and monitor progress of direct reports.
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
- Minimum 10 years' of agriculture industry experience, preferably in field sales, and/or area sales management with a proven sales history and record of profitability.
- Ability to develop and implement successful financial goals, marketing and business plans.
- Able to work through and with others to accomplish goals and objectives.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Able to effectively function as a change agent.
- Progressive, strategic, and visionary in approach to responsibilities.
- Able to balance long-term and short-term goals and objectives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
$225,000.00 - $275,000.00, Plus annual incentive plan eligibility
The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, and other job-related reasons.
