Role Summary

IAC Mendon is currently recruiting for a Buyer, for our Mendon, MI facility. The role will include responsibilities for supporting production, and ensuring cost effective procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors.

Position Specific Requirements:

• Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, tooling, and supplies from vendors within a specific commodity area.
• Ensures cost-effective procurement and delivery of material and service to support plant and customer requirements. 
• Negotiates supply agreements.
• Develops strategy to achieve results.
• Familiarity with commercial terms and total costs management concepts required.
• Works independently under general supervision.
• Completes special tasks as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

• BS in business, or related discipline/work experience.
• 1 3 years of experience in manufacturing setting, preferably related to the automotive industry.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  
• Priority setting and time management.
  
• Negotiating principles/skills.
  
• Action oriented/produces results.
  
• Basic financial analysis skills.
