Job Objective: This is an exciting role in a growing company. As Buyer, you will source production components and manage a Bill of Materials (BOM) for several teams. The right person for this role has purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, is able to read blueprints/drawings, and is comfortable with ERP/PLM/MRP/MES systems and working in new product introduction. If you are someone who enjoys launching new products, influencing component selection, and owning a project from cradle-to-grave then this is the role for you.
Duties
- Perform RFI/RFP/RFQ for direct materials
- Place purchase orders for assigned materials aligned with company requirements
- Keep vendors on track for deliverables
- Maintain accurate and organized records
- Issue purchase orders for production parts using a Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Mitigate supply risk, documenting and reporting supplier performance
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for cost savings, quality improvement, and on-time delivery
- Maintain strong supplier relationships
- BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
- 2+ years of procurement experience
- Understanding of supplier risk identification, mitigation and contingency planning
- Understanding of negotiation of price and terms and conditions
- US Citizen and/or Permanent Resident (future security clearance may be required)
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Collaborative; capable of working across all levels of the organization
- Organized; comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
