We’re Looking For A: Buyer who will manage all purchasing and procurement functions at our Corporate Headquarters. Will oversee daily procurement activities of assigned categories, ensure continuity of supply, competitive pricing, quality and technical innovation and container spend in support of the strategic plan. Will negotiate and process purchase orders to meet specialized or complex company needs in accordance with company procedures and regulations.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Responsible for issuing all purchase orders, tracking, and PO Maintenance and on time deliveries.
- Serve as the vendor liaison for issue resolution and vendor complaints and participate in/lead supplier engagement activities
- Responsible for sourcing new packaging or components for its given accounts
- Monitor return to vendors to ensure all documentation and credits are complete.
- Managing inventory issues, scheduling changes, and cancellations to minimize write-offs and obsolescence.
- Communicate promptly any supply problems that may impact the production schedule.
- Work with suppliers and accounts payable to reconcile pricing issues (PPVs)
- Thorough working knowledge of purchasing policies, processes, and procedures
- Build customer relationships internally, providing timely and accurate information to the business
- Lead cost-savings initiatives that impact the business
- Identify and select primary and secondary suppliers
- Complete requests for quotes by identifying and selecting vendors and suppliers using criteria such as quantity and quality of commodities, price, and delivery date
- Explain and clarify purchasing procedures to internal departments as well as vendors
- Solve problems with orders in an efficient and timely manner.
- Analyze purchase requisitions and review them for accuracy and completion.Â
- Collaborate with department managers to clarify purchase requisitions, identify departmental needs, and refine specifications for future purchase orders.Â
- Follow proper channels to obtain purchase authorization according to company policy and investigate and cultivate new sources for supplies and products.Â
- Research and prepare bid specifications and issue requests to potential vendors and suppliers.

- Strong negotiation, analytical and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and the ability to prioritize with changing situations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to take initiative
- Ability to exercise sound independent judgment
- Comprehensive knowledge of commodities in area of specialization
- Adaptable and flexible
- 3-5 years experience supply chain buyer experience in the food, pet food, nutrition, and/or beauty industries.Â
- Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite
- Familiarity with NetSuite
- 5-7 years experience supply chain buyer experience in the food, pet food, nutrition, and/or beauty industries.
- High School Diploma or GED EquivalentÂ
- BA/BS in Supply Chain Management, Business
- Master in Supply Chain Management, Business Management or a related field
