Job Summary

The Buyer Direct will be based in Henrico, VA, reporting to the Materials Manager. This role will be coordinating activities involved with procuring direct materials, electrical and/ or mechanical parts.

What a typical day looks like:

• Maintain supplier relationships and manage the ordering of raw materials and parts based on production requirements.
• Handle purchase order confirmations, modifications, and track shipments to ensure timely delivery.
• Conduct regular stock checks to prevent overstock and minimize obsolescence risks.
• Communicate with freight forwarders and warehouses to organize transportation and resolve claims or discrepancies.
• Review requisitions and MRP outputs, and manage procurement records, including costs and inventory levels.
• Monitor supplier performance regarding price, delivery, and quality, and conduct quarterly supplier reviews.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of procurement experience.
• Use of the following tools may be required: Working usage of Word, Excel and Power Point, English language knowledge, data entry, ten-key, spreadsheet (PC), ERP software.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting various business and technical documents, as well as writing reports and business correspondence.
• Skilled in effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups, while applying advanced mathematical concepts and operations.
• Capable of following instructions in various formats and solving problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.
