Job Description
Position Overview:
Solid Power is seeking a Buyer II to join our talented team working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next generation, all solidâstate rechargeable batteries. Solid Power is a dynamic, fastâpaced, collaborative team environment. This role will have a hand in the materials, inventory, and logistics that enable Solid Powerâs technical teams to deliver and grow. Â Ideal candidates will have a strong background in manufacturing negotiation, purchasing and be excellent in data analysis with SAP specific experience.
Job Duties:
- Take direction from and collaborate with procurement team and assist in the creation of purchase requisitions, research, and supplier management.
- Purchase materials, supplies and services at the most favorable terms for Solid Power.
- Help qualify vendors, evaluate bids, negotiate prices and terms for purchased goods and services.
- Coordinate with engineers and scientists to provide support in obtaining best materials, equipment, and tools.
- Review quotations and supporting documents for data accuracy. Monitor approval routing.
- Communicate via email or phone with suppliers to obtain delivery dates, revised quotations, improved terms.
- Issue Purchase Orders. Obtain receipt acknowledgments, add documentation to PO, provide order status to business owners.
- Review invoices and work to resolve discrepancies with business owners and Accounts Payable team.
- Compliance: relay procurement process to suppliers and the team members to include process and system training.
- Perform other related procurement tasks as needed, i.e., reporting, expediting, obtaining quotes, and gathering information from suppliers.
- Record keeping â managing projects and associated quotes, internally obtaining signatures, attaching supporting documentation to Purchase Orders.
- Work with Finance to properly code Purchase Orders and provide information related to the purchase.
 Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelorâs degree in business, supply chain or related discipline preferred. Â
- 4+ yearsâ experience within purchasing for manufacturing.
- APICS certification/CPM certification preferred.
- Proficient in ERP systems, (SAP preferred) / Microsoft Suite.
- Must have relatable sales/contracts negotiation experience.
- Must be detail oriented, well organized, and have a high sense of urgency.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be a self-motivated problem solver.
- Experience in hazardous materials and international shipping preferred.
- Experience in coordinating with Logistics in determining best freight rates preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Thornton, CO.
Salary Range:Â $65,000 - $90,000 annually
