Job Description

Torch Technologies is looking for an experienced C++ software developer to be a part of a team that produces prototype simulation software. These simulations often model complex future concepts for missile and threat behaviors. Physics-based interactions drive compelling visualization via packages such as Unreal Engine. We also build data collection systems and analysis tools to convey easily understandable performance results.

We are looking for a action oriented person that has the ability to consider loosely defined requirements and voice their ideas to implement solutions that provide value to solving our customers challenges. Our team works on a collection of evolving small projects which will keep you interested and challenged. Development teams are typically small (4-8 people). If you are proficient in developing in C++, have a desire to learn, and a good ability to communicate your ideas, we want to hear from you!

Primary responsibilities will be to develop, test, and document innovative, cross platform, software components.

Job Requirements

• B.S. Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related scientific field
• 8+ years of applicable software development experience
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency developing in C++
• Experience with software development processes
• Experience with Visual Studio, CLion, or similar integrated development environments
• Experience with Linux and Microsoft Windows
• Experience with source code control (git), and related tools.

Preferred Candidates Will Also Have One or More of the Following:

• Familiarity with developing simulations, video games, or distributed systems
• Knowledge of missile and air defense systems
• Experience with agile development

US Citizenship is required as the position requires the candidate obtain a secret level security clearance in order to access classified information. Current security clearance is a plus.
