C#/.NET Software Engineer

Orbis is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to a project building and maintaining publishing production workflow systems and related products. Most work is done in C# using Microsoft Visual Studio in a .NET 6 environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Building screens for the workflow system client that connects via HTTP to a MarkLogic XML backend system.
• Design a unified user experience across multiple screens and tools.
• Develop and maintain REST API controllers for network services.
• Development of related tools and products that interface to other network services.

Experience and Skills

Mandatory Requirements & Qualifications:

• US citizenship
• Fluent in English
• A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field.
• 3+ years developing intuitive UI using Windows 10, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)
  • Strong experience in user interface development.
  • Experience with C# and .NET in a Microsoft Visual Studio environment.
  • Experience contributing to design discussions and understanding UX principles.
  • General experience with multiple languages.

• 5+ years of experience with developing applications with C#/.NET web and back-end functionality using Microsoft Visual Studio or similar experience.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Knowledge of XML In a publishing environment using C# XML objects.
• Knowledge of HTTP calls in the .NET environment.
• General Knowledge of SQL queries.
• Experience with MarkLogic or other NoSQL DB.
• Experience with XQuery, XPath, and related technology.
• Experience with DevExpress.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and XML development: XSD and XSLT
